Activity Title: Data Collection

Learning Activity: Restate the objectives of the proposed research problem; list the
specific data that need to collect; and identify the possible sources of data

Author: Fely P. David Page: 133
Type of Activity: Exercise
Concept Note: Data collection is an extremely important part of any research because
the conclusions of a study are based on what the data reveal. There are several ways of
collecting data. The choice of procedures usually depends on the objectives and design
of the study. Another consideration is the kind of data the researcher wishes to
generate.

Instructions:

1. Restate the objectives of your proposed research problem and list the
specific data that you need to collect and identify the possible sources of
these data.

Title of the Study: Latundan Peels as Fertilizer for Silling Labuyo
Objectives  Data Requirements  Sources

The general objective of this
study is to determine the
feasibility of latundan peels
as fertilizer for siling
labuyo. Specifically, it seeks
to answer the following:
1. How may the use of
latundan peels as
fertilizer on the growth
of siling labuyo can be
described in terms of: 1.1 height of the plant -
Can be acquired by
1.1 height of plant; measuring the plant. 1.1 Tape measure
1.2 monthly growth; 1.2 monthly growth - 1.2 Observation
and By observing the 1.3 Observation
1.3 number of leaves?   process, the growth of
  the plant throughout the
  months is distinguished.
  1.3 number of leaves -
  Upon observing its
  monthly growth, it can
  be seen that the leaves
  are increasing.

2. Identify the data collection technique/s that you will use in your study and
explain briefly your choice. Describe the procedures that you will follow in
collecting your data.

Data collection techniques of our study

1. Tape measure — This is necessary in order to calculate the plant's height. Measurement
of its base to the highest point is repeated every month to notice differences.

2. Observation — This technique is essential to the study, especially since it involves

plants. This will determine whether the experiment is successful or not.
