1.1 Overview
The ACUSON X300TM and ACUSON X300TM PE ultrasound system comes with an optional
17 inch, SXGA color monitor with 1280 x 1024 pixels. The following figure shows the
monitor.

Operating at 47Hz to 63Hz frequency range, this non-interlaced monitor has four speak‐
ers - two mid/tweeters and two woofers for use with spectral Doppler.
The monitor controls include:
n Degauss
n Brightness
n Contrast
n Test buttons (user serviceable adjustments are located inside the monitor). Refer to
the FPD section in the Users Manual.

 CAUTION
The weight of the monitor (6.5 kg: 14.3 lb.) represent a lifting hazard.
The use of improper lifting methods or lifting in an awkward manner can cause
serious bodily injury.
 Use proper lifting methods.

1.3 Accessing the Monitor Control Screen

Use the following information to assist in accessing the Monitor Control Screen and set‐
tings.

1.3.1 To Adjust the Contrast and Brightness

Do the following:
n Press MENU. The Contrast menu displays, ( Fig. 5 Page 9). Pressing the menu but‐
ton will cycle through the different sub menus.
n Select the adjustment values with the Up and Down buttons.

The FPD of ACUSON X300 PE systems has eight video modes which have different con‐
 trast and brightness values. Those are controlled by ultrasound system input signal (refer
to table below).

1.3.2 To Access the OSD Menu

To access the OSD Menu, perform the following:
n Press the MENU and UP button simultaneously, about 10 seconds, until the OSD Main
Menu displays.

1.3.3 To Adjust the Color Mode

1. Press Menu and UP simultaneously for about 10 seconds.

2. The OSD picture displays. The sub-menu PICTURE is not activated.

4. Press the UP button twice to reach the COLOR MODE.

5. Go to the COLOR MODE menu.

- Press MENU button once to go to the COLOR MODE sub menu.
- The sub OSD menu for 9300K, 11000K, SPARE and USER displays.

6. Select Color Temperature with the Menu button. The default value is 9300K.
- Select 9300K for WW setting
- Select 11000K for SONOVISTA setting

7. To change the Color Temperature:

- Press Menu one time to change the Color Temp to 11000K. Each time the Menu
button is pressed, the Color Temp changes.

8. Select EXIT with the UP button, press MENU to exit from the menu.

9. Press the Menu button after each EXIT. The OSD screen will disappear.

 The OSD Menu will automatically clear if no button is pressed within 10 seconds.

 Adjust Menu is used only for the Analog RGB input signal.

1.3.4 OSD Menu Key Lock and Unlock

Do the following to Lock and Unlock the OSD Menu:

Locked OSD Menu key,

1. Press the up or down buttons approximately five seconds. The following message dis‐
plays indicating that the OSD menu key is locked.

2. Press the up or down buttons approximately five seconds. The following message dis‐
plays indicating that the OSD menu key is unlocked.

1.3.5 Variable LAMP Intensity

Press the LIGHT button. The intensity of the LED is changed to On. Continue pressing the
LIGHT button to cycle through the different levels of LED intensity, OFF, Low, Middle and
Max.

1.3.6 No SIgnal Message

If the following message displays indicating that there is no signal, check the signal cable.

The following message displays when the input frequency is out of range.
