Covid-19
Coronavirus is a large family of viruses that cause disease in humans and
animals. In humans it will usually cause respiratory infections, ranging from the common
cold to serious illnesses such as Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe
Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). A new type of coronavirus found in humans since an
extraordinary event appeared in Wuhan China, in December 2019, was later named Severe
Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-COV2), and caused Coronavirus
Disease-2019 (COVID-19). The name coronavirus comes from the Latin, corona which
means crown, which is raised on the appearance of virus particles (virions).
Corona Virus (COVID-19) was first discovered in the city of Wuhan, China, at
the end of December 2019. This virus spreads very quickly and has spread to all countries,
including Indonesia, in just a few months. Coronavirus cannot be transmitted through the air.
Coronavirus transmission from human to human is estimated to occur through direct contact
in close proximity via small droplets or droplets from the respiratory tract that the patient
produces when sneezing and coughing.
Early symptoms of Corona virus infection or COVID-19 can cause flu
symptoms, which are fever, runny nose, dry cough, fever, sore throat, and headache. After
that, the symptoms can disappear and recover or even worsen. Patients with severe
difficulties, coughing up phlegm and difficult bleeding, difficulty breathing, and chest pain.
These symptoms appear during compilation of the Corona virus. A number of researchers
from Johns Hopkins University conducted the study, which was later published in the journal
Annals of Internal Medicine. From these studies, it is known that the average incubation
period of the corona virus is 5 days.
To prevent transmission of the corona virus, several ways you can do it, first
wash your hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds until clean, avoid touching
the nose, face, or mouth when hands are dirty, avoid direct or close contact with sick people,
avoid wild animals or birds, clean the surface of objects that are often used, cover your nose
and mouth when sneezing or coughing with a tissue. Then, remove the tissue and wash your
hands thoroughly and wear a mask and seek treatment at a health facility immediately if you
have respiratory problems
