On January 10-12, Troop 284 went to on an outing to the Elizabeth
Apr 14 – Troop meeting (Last meeting for BOR) Township cabin. We got to the cabin at about 7pm and we unpacked our
Apr 21 – Troop meeting bags. Then we went to sleep. On the second day, we woke up and had a
Apr 27 – Committee meeting breakfast of bacon and eggs and then got started with the day’s activities.
Apr 28 – Court of Honor For the first activity, we learned to tie knots such as the square knot, half
hitch, two half-hitch, the taut line, and the bowline. After doing that, we
went to the next activity, which was how to make a rope ladder, using
Information sticks and rope. For the final activity we got to walk on stilts. Lunch was
hamburgers, hotdogs and nachos. After lunch, we had a pheasant hunter

to bed. The next day, we packed up, and left. All in all, this trip was very
Facebook fun and educational, and we very much enjoyed this experience.

On January 25th, the kayak pre-build team of David, Marty, Joseph, Zach and Adam along with
their dads learned hands on what is involved in building the kayaks for the Heritage outing. Their
knowledge will help direct the rest of the scouts for the upcoming troop build. They will serve as
the leaders for this project. Here’s hoping everyone’s kayaks float!
