June:
 Thorough inspection of deck exterior completed on June 16.
 Deck was power washed and cleaned to help with sanding and removal process, completed on
June 17.
 Precise measurements were taken for a general idea of the size of deck, and number of
materials needed, completed June 17.
 Order placed for the composite boards (Special Order), completed June 18.
 Tools and equipment were acquired prior to deck board removal, June 18.
 All face boards being replaced were removed, June 24.
 Order of composite decking was picked up, July 3.

Problems Encountered:
Upon removal of the face and deck boards, rotting was persistent throughout the whole deck structure
because of poor weather proofing. Rotting was seen in most of the joists, support beams, and part of
the siding on the house.

Work Remaining:
July:
 Replacement of all rotting joists.
 Replacement and repair to rotting siding on side of house.
 Replacement of support beams.
 Sufficient weatherproofing application.
 Installation of composite boards.
 General cleanup.
 Final inspection.

Conclusion:
The project was going on schedule until rotting was discovered. The client was informed and was
completely aware of the extra time and service costs. We will be back on track after deck is repaired and
proper weather proofing is applied. The sanded and repaired boards were used to replace the rotting
joists.

Recommendations:
I recommend pushing back future projects because of the set back of this project.
