Training of Trainers for Service Providers 1
Training Overview
Background
Opportunity 2.0 is a five-year (2020-2025) USAID-funded project that aims to improve education,
employment and livelihood outcomes for vulnerable out-of-school youth. Implemented by the Education
Development Center (EDC), Opportunity 2.0 will contribute to stronger education and workforce
development systems that reach larger numbers of out-of-school youth and help prepare them to
transition to further education and training as well as immediate jobs and long-term success.
Opportunity 2.0’s second Intermediate Result (IR 2) is aimed at building capacities of national and
local systems to provide foundation skills in Work Readiness and Entrepreneurship. In line with this
objective, Opportunity 2.0 will support institutions who will offer technical skills development and
alternative learning to out-of-school youth through Youth Workforce Readiness Training Program Grants.
The Grant is open to local training service providers of DepEd ALS and TESDA-accredited TVET programs in
all Opportunity 2.0 sites.
Aside from financial support through the Grants Program, O2 will also build the institution’s
