This week, I continued working hard on my final project and all of the logistics that are

going to go into it. Additionally, I continued visiting/ shadowing the Lawrenceville Clinic where

I have had the opportunity to shadow a couple of nurses there. I have really enjoyed my time

shadowing the nurses because I have made the final decision to continue on to nursing school

upon graduation. Prior to beginning my internship at the Gwinnett Newton Rockdale Health

Department, I was not planning on continuing with school after graduation. After shadowing

various nurses and seeing a day in their life I feel confident in my decision. I love the fact that

the field of nursing consists of many different departments. I also love that I will be able to make

a difference in someone's life on a daily basis. I know that this is true because I have seen it first-

hand while shadowing various nurses. I have seen the smile on the patients faces, which makes it

all worth it at the end of the day. Overall, I have noticed that I very much so enjoy being busy

and on my feet all day. Personally, I need to be busy all day so I truly believe that this career will

be a good fit for me.

As stated before, I continued planning my final project as the event that I have been

preparing for is quickly approaching. This week, I met with many different people so that my

project/ event will run smoothly on the day of. I met with the communications specialist and the

director of district programs. Both of these people have been very helpful during this process as I

have never planned something such as this before. Additionally, I recall learning about grants

toward the end of the semester in my community health class and the lengthy process that one

must go through to obtain a grant. Since beginning my project, I have had the chance to see

grants be used first-hand. In order to host this event, we are using grant funds provided by the

state. It has been really cool, for me to finally see everything that I have learned in school, come
full circle. Lastly, I am so glad that I have had this opportunity so moving forward, I will be

more confident in planning an event such as this one in the future.
