About my Week
This week was a really good week at work! I was able to finish my duties I was assigned

to get our IAC accreditation applied for and was able to help a little extra the day before to make

sure everything in other areas were finished as well. I also got to spend some time with one of

the aestheticians at SpaMedical and pick her brain about medical grade skin care products,

techniques, and schools, and I got to spend some time at our Locust Grove location.

I was able to finish gathering all of the Continuing Medical Education hours and

certificates from all of our medical providers and I created a spreadsheet to keep a log of what

the education course was, how many hours they received from it, and the date it was completed. I
also made an updated file folder organizing each provider with all of their updated CME

certificates from the past three years to send in with the accreditation application.

I had a great time over at medical for a couple hours and I got to ask questions, see

techniques, and learn a little bit about anatomy of the skin and how the products that they use

work. I also got the chance to talk to her about where she went to school, what she went for, and

how she became certified in her specialty areas.

I also spent a day in our Locust Grove office this week. Locust Grove is a lot smaller of

an office than the Macon office and so usually only one medical assistant is needed up there. The

medical assistant who trained me is typically the one assigned there but she is about to go on

maternity leave and so she spent the day training me up there and I will most likely be spending

one or two days a week in that office from now on.

Another exciting thing that happened this week was that I reached out to 7 different PA

programs at schools all across the south to make sure that the classes I have already completed

will be accepted for their pre-requisite requirements. My classes met the requirements for 6 of

the schools! So now I will be planning to take microbiology, principles of chemistry 2, organic

chemistry, and genetics over the next fall and spring semesters to be able to apply to the PA

programs next summer!

Also, I wanted to make sure to let you know that my supervisor and I have planned a date

for my presentation and it will be on Thursday, July 21 at 5:30pm.
