AFFIDAVIT OF EXPLANATION

I, fdfsdfsd, of legal age, Filipino citizen and a resident of Brgy. __________________,

after having been duly sworn to in accordance with law hereby depose and states that;

1. I am a national born Filipino citizen living and residing together with my family in
____________________, Philippines;

2. Very significantly, I must to admit, and in fact it is of public knowledge, that life here
in the Philippines is embedded with utterly difficult status and conditions, both on
financial and non-financial standpoint, especially to those who are not that privileged
in life, like me;

3. Relevantly, in view of my deep desire to give my family the great life they deserve in
this world, I took myself to decide and flip things around for the better, even if it
means that undeniable sacrifices and hardships are to be faced all throughout the
journey;

4. Consequently then, I applied, and with the help and assistance of the almighty, was
granted contractual employment to work as a Housemaid in the United Arab Emirates
for the duration of two (2) years;

5. Upon employment, no words could explain the joy I felt, because then I was given the
hope I am much awaiting for to achieve all of my dreams for my love ones;

6. Regrettably, however, quick as blink of an eye, all the good things that I have
envisioned for my family has been completely shattered. Instead of good life, I
experienced hell in the hands of my employer. Simply, I was subjected to abuse,
cruelty, neglect and discrimination among other bad things that an OFW could have
imagined;

7. Of particular significance, in the course of my employment there were times that my

employer was not giving me my salary for FOUR (4) months or more. As well, in the
most cruel way, there were times that my Employer locked me up and have not given
me any food to eat and water to drink. Too, I experienced being physically abused
and maltreated so much so that I could no longer feel any pain as my body has
already been caught up with numbness. Even more, my Employer do not only lock
me up, he also seized and hid from me all my travel documents, making sure therein
that all possibility of escape is non-existent;

8. Verily, those were the darkest days of my life. I could not do anything to help myself.
I was there sitting in pain, loneliness and depression, especially considering that I
could not then provide for the sustenance of all of my love ones here in the
Philippines;

9. But, fortunately, on one occasion, I was able to see an opportunity to escape so I run
away from my employer and seek immediate assistance from the nearest authorities
concerned;

10. Because of what have happened to me, the Philippine Government through its offices
in UAE, helped me to return home in the Philippines;

11. As a result of all that had transpired therein, I was not able to finish my employment
contract as a housemaid in the UAE;

12. Nevertheless, it is not amiss to point that, the circumstances surrounding my case are
more than sufficient justification of me not having able to finish my employment
contract. It must always be bear in mind, life and liberty are much so precious and
fundamental to subordinate it to a mere employment contract, which Employer at the
very onset do not only abide with the terms and conditions of the contract, but
primordially does not give even a shed of respect to an individual’s human rights;

13. Anent to the foregoing, I am executing this affidavit to claim all the benefits and
privileges due and payable to me by reason of the employment contract I have signed
and entered;

14. That I am executing this affidavit to attest to the veracity of my statements and for
whatever intents and purposes it may lawfully serve.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set our hands this ___________________
