Activity 2:
1. What stands out in the assigned image? What can you
say about it?
A. Pan Pat, Myanmar – Women of the Kayan tribe in
Myanmar are well known for wearing brass coils
around their necks their entire lives in order to
lengthen it. The belief is the longer the neck, the
more beautiful the woman.
B. Mursi women are famous for their wooden lip plates
– a symbol of beauty and identity. A girl's lower lip is
cut (sometimes by her mother) when she reaches 15
or 16, and held open by a sodden plug until it heals.
It's up to the girls how far they want the lip to be
stretched.
C. She's a kind hearted and beautiful girl. She's
hardworking and very kind when it comes to her
work and her fans.

2. How do you think someone in a different racial,


ethnic, historical, gender or age group will perceive
the assigned picture?

After the activity, students must be able to answer the

1. What does this image try to teach you about what is
beautiful?
Beautiful is normal, and it is not dependent
on ethnic or racial differences. Beautiful is a
woman with a distinct personality; one who
can laugh at everything, including herself,
and one who is exceptionally kind and
sympathetic to others. She is a lady who
understands the importance of having fun and
not taking life too seriously.
2. What is the message the activity wants to convey?
Be proud of what you have since that is what
distinguishes you.

IV. ASSESSMENT Directions: Look at yourself in front of a mirror and


answer the following questions:
1.Which part of your body are you most proud of?
Why?
Answer: Hands, since I can accomplish anything with
both of my hands and am proud of it.

Why?
Answer: There isn't a single aspect of my physique that I
don't like. I'm satisfied with my body, I'm content with
my body, and my body makes the rules.
1.What is your ideal body? Describe.
Answer: Why would I want to have a sexy ideal body
when I am proud with my physique.

or why not?
Answer: NO, I'm quite content with my body. The new
sexy is chubby.
