On Monday we started by dividing into groups to refill the menstruation stations around
campus. I was tasked to fill the ones on main campus. After completing many of the assigned
stations, I returned and started on our weekly assignments. This consisted of weekly readings and

On Tuesday I finished the readings and learning contract. After this, I started to get to
know my other coworkers. I found this as an important topic due to our daily interactions. After
becoming acquainted with my coworkers, we all discussed ideas for our big project. This led to
Wednesday
On Wednesday, we were assigned the task of breaking down the pre-made menstruation
station boxes and tallying up the number of pads and tampons for the stations. After this, we also
helped with the task of counting and labeling menstruation bags donated to the Women’s Center.
This was done to make it easier for those needing these to identify what they need. These were to
go to the pantry in the Higher Achievers program and other similar programs on campus.
Thursday
Month, LGBTQ+ Programs, and Intersectional Programs. This groups play a big role in the
H.U.B. but do not entirely cover the H.U.B.’s mission. The other groups consist of Sexual
Assault, Women’s History and Action month, Wellness, an Art exhibit, and social media.
On Wednesday, I started by going over some of the readings assigned to me. After this,
the other public health interns and I discussed how to handle the big project. This consisted of us
deciding to hold bi-weekly meetings until closer to the date of said program. This Wednesday we
had our first meeting and discussed what and how it would look like. We finalized the special
topics and what days they would be set on. We then set on what the Sex Ed Fest activities would
be. We followed this by deciding who we would need to contact in order to provide large scale
Thursday
On Thursday, I started the day off by continuing the assigned readings. After this, I
discussed more projects with another intern for the Black History Month group. We discussed
ideas to highlight black business owners on front campus. This was followed by a meeting with
the Intersectionality group. In this meeting, we assigned roles for the group and discussed
program ideas. This consisted of a movie night, potluck dinner, social media campaign, and a
sand layering event. This day ended by creating a questionnaire for the social media campaign.
Saturday
On Saturday, I did not go directly into the office. Instead, I met with student leader on
campus to discuss a proposed color run hosted by LGBTQ+ Programs. This meeting went
quicker than expected, but I received amble information to communicate to the rest of my team
privilege, oppression, and power. I also worked on campaigning material for the Black History
Month Group. This was done before the meeting on Tuesday to ensure the group would approve
the materials.
Tuesday
On Tuesday, we had our internship class. In this class we discussed the weekly readings.
This week’s topic centered around power, oppression, and privilege. I also had my weekly work
group meetings. On Tuesdays, I meet with the LGBTQ+ team and Black History Month Group. I
was assigned to make a flyer for one of the programs in the LGBTQ+ team and to research more

On Wednesday, I started on the weekly readings and one video. This week’s readings
concentrate on feminism and the feminist movement. In the middle of the day, we met to discuss
an overall theme of what the Sex Ed Fest would be to better advertise the event. After this, I

On Thursday, I started my day with writing this journal and working on the discussion
post. I then went on to take on my first front desk timeslot. This consisted of sitting at the desk
on the top floor and answering the phone if it rings and greeting guests who come upstairs.
Reflection
I have learned that I am skilled in email writing but need a little guidance. I was
challenged to rethink on how programs should be designed. I hope to learn how programs are
around feminism. I worked on advertising materials for Black History still because I have not

one of my programs. In the Black History Month group, we discussed the final steps in the

working on the Black Female Innovator Spotlight social media campaign. Victoria and I worked
on this project together. The most tasking part of this was finding innovators who had created
something.

On Thursday, I started the day out by printing and cutting flyers out for an event that we
(Black History Month group) are tabling today. I contacted three outside sources for
collaborating on three different events. I then went on to complete my checklist for an event.
This was followed by creating a flyer for an event and emailing outside sources for a program I
am hosting.

On Friday, the LGBTQ+ Programs group hosted the Pride Night at the Wall. I am in this
group, so I was there for the full duration of the event. This was 6-8 pm.

On Friday, the other interns and myself met with the Public Health Student Organization
to discuss their participation and collaboration in the Sex (ed) Fest. Then to close out the day, we
around intersectionality. I then reworked some of my checklists for my events. For the main part
of the day I tabled for the event on Tuesday and made sure we had all the materials for the event.
Tuesday
On Tuesday, we had our internship class. In this class we discussed our weekly readings
and our project. I also had my weekly group meetings. On Tuesdays I meet with the Black
History Month group and LGBTQ+ Programs group. We prepared for the event tonight and set
up. We also went as a group to the Taco Twosday event on front campus. This allowed us to
bond and connect with faces on campus who have been previously busy.
Wednesday
Dr. Graham to discuss my CliftonStrengths test. This was done to understand each of us better in
accordance to how we think. We had our Public Health Intern meeting to discuss the Sex (ed)
Thursday
On Thursday, I researched for my event during Sex (ed) Fest. I also had a meeting with
an organization to come to Sex (ed) Fest. This was followed by contacted the participants for the

On Friday, I attended the weekly staff meeting. After the meeting we set up for the Block
Party.
Overall, all the week was packed full of events and activities. One thing that I need to be better

Tuesday
On Tuesday, we had our internship class. In this class we discussed our weekly readings
and our project. I also had my weekly group meetings. On Tuesdays I meet with the LGBTQ+
Programs group. I had a meeting with Jennifer and Melissa to discuss my project. We decided to
push my event date back so that the project can go smoothly as possible. I also attended Kayla

Thursday
On Thursday, Kayla and I went around campus to put up flyers for Sex (Ed) Fest week.
After this, Sarah and I went to Lowe’s to pick stuff up for her event. The day ended with sending
confirmation emails to all the participants coming to the Sex (Ed) Fest.
Saturday
On Saturday, Spring Fest occurred where confirmed incoming freshman come to campus
for a tour of campus and interaction with their perspective college. We tabled at the H.U.B.
because Bobcat Marketplace did not exist this year. We interacted with a lot of students.
Overall, all the week was packed full of events and activities. One thing that I need to be better

On Monday, I worked on some advertising for Sex (Ed) Fest. This included button
making for the rest of the week. I then helped Kayla prepare for her event by making some gift

On Tuesday, I helped Mac with her brochure for her event today. This was followed by
helping her set up for her event and attending it. Halfway through her event, I had to leave to
help Sarah set up for her event. We then had the event which was hosted longer than anticipated
due to participation. After this, I went to She Speaks, an event hosted by my workplace to

On Wednesday, I worked on more button making and making the final decision to host
Sex (Ed) Fest on front campus. The day ended with being a guest speaker in an event hosted by
Resident Life.
Thursday
On Thursday, Sex (Ed) Fest happened. The day started off by sign making and final
printing and creating of an activity. This was followed by a long set up and a great turn out to the
actual event.
Overall, all the week was packed full of events and activities. One thing that I need to be better
with is being honest with other members of my team when I feel like they are not contributing as
I did not put any hours into this week as we had the week off if chose to do so.

around Racism this week. After this, I tabled again for Bi+ Community Week. I later helped a
coworker chalk the campus for Bi+ Community Week. After this, I researched some more for
my project. This day ended by attending the second event of Bi+ Community Week.
Wednesday
On Wednesday, I made some final decisions for my event tomorrow. This took up most
of the morning. This was followed by some more researching for my project and working on
some advertisement details for my event tomorrow. The day ended by attending an event held by
the Cultural Center where we had dinner with the deans of the colleges.
Thursday
On Thursday, my day seemed to be never ending. I tabled for the majority of the day.
After this, I went shopping for the event tonight and cooking my dish. The event is a community
potluck. The day ended with the potluck which had an average turnout.
Reflection
Not every event will draw in the same participants. Also plan for less or more people than
expected.

On Thursday, I started the day off by getting my project finalized for my supervisors to
see. I then went to the All Majors Expo. At this Expo, there were many career opportunities that
focused on marketing and business. While this was true, there were three health focused job
opportunities made available. I ended the day by attending the drag show. This better gained my

On Friday, I had a meeting with Dr. Graham to discuss my event. In this meeting we
discussed how my event should go and who I should invite to cohost. The day ended by my
attending of the Art Exhibit titled Amplified. This was an art show displaying artworks dedicated
to diversity.
Reflection

Based Relationships. I had a meeting with Jenn and Melissa to reschedule my event for tonight
due to lack of RSVPs. I also researched some more for my individual project.

around Power Based Relationships this week. After this, I researched some more for my project.

On Monday, I finished up reading for our class. This week’s reading was about Body
Image. I worked on my packet for my project which is almost done. The day ended by attending
a movie night/sign making event for Take Back the Night that is happening Thursday.

around Body Image this week. After this, I worked more on my packet for my project and

On Friday, I tabled at for the Bobcats U.N.I.T.E. week celebration on front campus. This
was to celebrate the diversity on campus. It was a short event that drew a lot of attention from

On Saturday, I went around campus and put up my flyers for both my events this coming week.
The events consisted of the Identity Q&A and the Unboxing Masculinity workshop.

On Monday, I finished up reading for our class. This week’s reading was about
Reproductive Justice. I then went home to work for the rest of the day before my event. The day
ended with my event titled Identity Q&A. This event was a way for people to get those questions

On Tuesday, we had our internship class. We discussed the readings which centered
around Reproductive Justice this week. After this, I finalized my packets and printed them so

On Wednesday, I made sure my project was ready to go before it starts. I went and got
signs to help with directions. I then went to go get both the food and drinks. This was followed
by a set-up of the event. The event went well, except with only one cis-gender male participant
showing.
Friday
On Friday, I tabled at for the EarthFest on front campus. This was to celebrate the Earth
Day. It was a short event that drew a lot of attention from both Students and Faculty/Staff.
The day ended with all the interns recording their presentations. This was very nerve wrecking as
