About weather

Part 1
1. Tell me about your country’s climate.
In Vietnam, the climate is temperate, I mean it is neither very hot nor very cold,
the weather of most seasons is quite hot, however, in winter, the temperature is
lower, and it is colder and windy, by and large, it is not too extreme for people to
suffer from it

2. What’s your favourite kind of weather?

I am really into windy and sunny weather. I can imagine that the weather is cool
because there is a combination between the sunshine and the slight cold of
winds. To me, that is a wonderful condition to go out and have outdoor activities.

3. Does the weather influence your mood?

Of course, the weather affects my mood very much. When I have plans to go out,
I will be really excited if the weather is good, especially cool weather, however,
the rain will make my mood down, because I don’t like going on the damp streets

4. Is it worse to feel too cold or too hot?

Personally, I feel that it is more terrible when the weather is too hot than too cold.
I feel uncomfortable because it makes me be soaked in sweat. Besides, that heat
is harmful to our skin. So, I can’t work effectively when I bear the sweltering heat
Part 2
Describe your favourite season.
When it comes to the season that I like most, I would say it is spring. And spring
in Vietnam has several characteristics. This season begins from the end of
December to march, and I see that the scenery is beautiful most in January, and
the weather is also wonderful. Especially, it is colder from the south to the north
area. In the morning of a spring day, the temperature is lower but not much, so it
is warm and sometimes cool because of light winds. I am interested in this
weather because it makes me feel more energetic.
To me, spring is a joyful season. Moreover, it is the beginning of a whole new
year. In spring, Vietnamese have Tet – a traditional new year event, and we have
a lot of things to do. People have a holiday to prepare and enjoy the event. I
typically come back to my hometown when I complete my study at HCM city. I
usually help my mom to clean up and decorate the house for Tet holiday.
Although I am quite busy preparing for Tet, I go out with my friends, visit my
relatives, and have parties. But what I like doing most in spring is spending time
with my family, we gather and have a meal, this is a happiness that makes me
feel warm and peaceful. That is also the reason I like spring, it is time for me to
enjoy the beauty of flowers, plants, and relax a hard-working year
Part 3

1. Are people in your country concerned (= worried) about protecting the

environment?
Of course , as far as i see, in vietnam, the responsibility to protect the
environment is popularly taught to the young generation. And that is a good
way to spread the importance of protecting the environment. Because young
people are energetic and creative, they can establish many hands-on
activities about the environment, thus, all citizens can understand and
contribute to preserving the environment. however, it is not absolutely all
people can do it, a few people still think that they don't have to protect the
environment, maybe they don't know about bad consequences of pollution

2. Does the responsibility for protecting the environment lie with governments or
with individuals?
It is certain that every individual has to be accountable for preserving the
environment. Because I think that everyone has done something negatively
impacting the environment at least once. moreover, we live together on one
planet. So, protecting the environment on this earth is protecting our life, every
individual is responsible for contributing to preserve the environment. We can
imagine that if only the government tries to protect the environment, whereas
citizens damage it, this planet will be destroyed because of us.

3. Does it help to educate young people on being green?

Definitely yes, it is beneficial to educate the young generation about being green.
Because that is a good way to spread the importance of preserving the
invironment. Because young people are energetic and creative, they can
establish many hands-on activities about the environment, thus, all citizens can
be aware of protecting this planet and contribute to being green.

1. 1. What effects does pollution have on the environment?

Human activities are causing environmental degradation. And it is clear that we
are facing with the air pollution, because exhaust fumes from factories, industrial
area, and our transports reduce the quality of the air. So, that is the reason for
respiratory (res po to ri) diseases. Besides, our water is seriously polluted
because of wastewater, garbage. This negative consequence leads to the
shortage of clean water and influences the balance of the ecosystem. These are
effects of pollution that we can see clearly

2. Do you think we pollute more now than we did 50 years ago?
From my perspective, we pollute more now than we did 50 years ago.
In the past, we did not construct many factories or industrial zones like now, we
used less fossil fuel and transport is not ubiquitous.
But now, people develop new technologies, so we have to use more fuel, toxic
chemicals, fertilizers. Moreover, the population of the earth is increasingly higher,
thus, I believe these consequences lead to the pollution now more than many
years ago.

3. What do you think will happen if we do not reduce current levels of pollution?
I cant imagine how serious consequences are if we constantly pollute the
environment. First, we will destroy completely the balance of the ecosystem,
there will be many natural disasters on this planet. Moreover, humans will
have to suffer from more serious diseases. So, if we don’t try to protect the
environment, the earth, where is our home will surely become uninhabitable.
