Retaining ring and mounting kit for release bearing

introduced

Background
There have been instances of damage to the
retaining ring in the clutch cover that holds the
release bearing in place on removal of the gear-
box. Up to now, replacing only the damaged re-
taining ring has not been possible and the entire
clutch cover assembly has had to be replaced.
A retaining ring or a mounting kit, depending
on the clutch cover design, has now been
introduced.



Service solution
Replace the parts as described below.
For vehicles with a type K432 31, K432 36 or
K432 38 clutch.
Replace only the damaged retaining ring 1 (part
number 1 749 137).
IMPORTANT! The ring 2 must not be re-
moved as the diaphragm spring could then be
damaged.

For vehicles with a type K432 30, K432 32,

K432 33, K432 35, K432 37 or K432 39
clutch.
Replace the damaged retaining ring. Use
mounting kit 2(part number 1 749 126).
