APPROACH - I
In the transverse direction the live load is placed in most eccentric position and symmetrically about centre line of carriageway.
In the longitudinal direction loads are placed so as to cause maximum BM/SF at the section considered.
For transverse distribution of loads among the longitudinal 4 girders for the purpose of calculation of
BM & SF due to loads placed more than 5.5 m away from support, Courbon's method is used.
For distribution of shear force to longitudinal girders due consideration is also given to Clause 305.12.2 of IRC-21:2000, according to which
for loads at or within 5.5 m of either supports the reaction on the longitudinal beams shall be greater of the results obtained by assuming
deck slab as continuous with the supports assumed as un-yielding and Courbon's method.
APPROACH - II
Analysis is done by grid analysis/grillage analysis with standard (STAAD) computer program.

As per Courbon's method for estimating distribution of live load among longitudinal girders, the transverse distribution of the load W
among the various longitudinal beams will be such that the reaction on the longitudinal beam is equal to:-
Where x1 = the distance of that beam from the centroid of longitudinal beams.
Σx2 = sum of the squares of the distances of various longitudinal beams from the centroid.
n = number of longitudinal girders.

Stage - II: at 28 th day after casting of girder and deck. SIDL is placed after 2nd stage stressing.
STEP 4: DETERMINATION OF MINIMUM REQUIRED PRESTRESSING FORCE AND LIMITING ZONE FOR THE PRESTRESSING FORCES (i.e.
ECCENTRICITY OF PRESTRESSING CABLES)
Assume losses:
For the purpose of determining tentative prestressing forces, losses as assumed are:
Instantaneous loss due to elastic shortening, anchorage slip & friction loss = 12 %
Long term loss due to creep in concrete, shrinkage & steel relaxation = 15 %
Four fundamental conditions for stresses: [Refer to Chapter 12 of Prestressed Concrete by N. Krishna Raju]

e= (1.633E+09*1.047E+09)*(18.008--7.920)/1660500/((-7.920*1.633E+09)+(18.008*1.047E+09))
= 4509.573 mm
4509.573 mm = e 1828.12 mm = Yb
So, e >= Yb
Therefore, prestressing force is to be increased so that the bottom fibre stress is maintained with possible eccentricity.

Temperature stresses are calculated using design temperature differences given in Cl 215.3 of IRC 6:2014. Analysis is done for positive
temperature difference and reverse temperature difference.
fck = 60 Mpa
Analysis for temperature load is presented in this document as per the procedure given in Dr.V.K.Raina's Concrete Bridge Design.
eo S A - q S Ay = a S At ------ Eq. 1
eo S Ay - q S Ay2 = a S Ayt ------ Eq. 2
As per Cl 215.4 of IRC:6 - 2014,
α = Coefficient of Thermal expansion = 1.170E-05
Ec = 5000*SQRT(60)*1000
= 3.87E+07 kN/m2 (Long term Ec)
