ILABAN NATIN
Abigaile Hermano

Wala nabang ibang plano and Commission on

Teka, muli akong napaisip.

patuloy padin tayong kumakabig.
guro at komunidad.

John Carl Manding

Maybe or maybe not, this piece of writing you will going to read will inculcate your mind to
reflect on what is just nor inflict unto your morale of wit, ukiyo-e and conscience without the
foreshadowed karma.

I am a Political Science Student, and yet I heavenly hate politics, how the justice system works,
how only person who have money and power are more than privilege than the others. But then,
when I am scrolling in Facebook, a certain group of professionals got my attention about their
comments on this certain politician who is running for a national position and I came to
realization that Politics is everywhere, and thus it is associated to all. After all, if
Politics doesn't interest me then I have no interest in changing a world.

News about the upcoming election were now rampant — seen on televisions and read on every
front page of newspaper. Politicians making themselves visible to the naked eye of the Pilipino
voters, making their name flagrant of pink rose to the nose of one. Supporters held caravans
every part of the nation. And the most entertaining part is, supporters of different political parties
have this little 'war' on who's who is the best. And I why labeled it as 'entertaining'? To know
who is stupid or not in sharing malicious-unreliable-misinformation; to know who really know
how to do determine credible sources over the other. And the sad part, some of them are so-
called professionals. They graduated in their certain courses, they even studied and taught how to
do fact check about information they read and yet they still blinded about fake news circulating
on the internet. What on earth is worse than stupidity of this scenario? Let me remind once and
for all that attacking one person by fake news is low-class. Have a decency for God's sake!

Before proceeding to my next case, I just want to clarify something. This is not insinuation or
anything black mamba lingering on your mind. This is to serve as an eye-opener. And before I
forgot, I have a high respect to this certain group of professionals. Only their actions are not
respectable. I respect your political beliefs, but the movement you made is not. How can you be
so proud of yourself when in fact, just a pure fact-checking you can't even make? How can you
be so happy walking around the corners of the university with those 3-letter extension of your
names where in fact  you're blinded with hoax —with fallacy. Why bother to educate young
minds where in fact you can't even educate yourself? How unprofessional isn't it?

It is a shame for the university, for the education system, a mockery for the learning
environment, and yet nobody cares. Because they are glorifying this kind of act! Even without
characterization and mechanisms!

They are all the representation of a black-white mamba and can be compared to stagnant canal
contains mosquito’s eggs and may cause dangerous illnesses that can influence one's unwisdom
mind.

Wondering how these young future wanna-be professionals take actions is the reflection of what
these professionals taught them. That you can share nor comments what you want without doing
fact checking because they think it's okay because it is what they observed and is what they
learned from these professionals. What an irony!

Spreading lies and hate speech have the potential to polarize public opinion, to promote violent
extremism and ultimately, to undermine democracies and reduce trust in the democratic process.
If these professionals requiring us to produce sources and deter hate speech, then we should
require them the same. Let's normalize the essence of check and balances even in educational
setting. In interlude, students should not be afraid to engage with these professionals to ask them
about their ideas or to also express your own opinions. It’s really high time that students should
be more assertive especially in this environment.

With due respect let's stop hate speech. Let us all be critical-conscious minded one on posting
and commenting on social media. Let's stop the rise of this historical distortion. Let us all be
educated.

With this, I rest my case and plead.

Education Landscape where no discrimination Exist
Cyril Cauilan
For the first time in over two years, face-to-face classes were held at 100 public schools
around the country. Given that the Covid-19 outbreak has impacted the education of a
considerable number of pupils which brought wide reform in the educational landscape of our
country and made us embrace online blended learning and modalities thus reopening of a face-
to-face learning is very much welcome as long as the DepEd officials will strictly follows the
IATF Covid Protocol and provide funds to be utilize in providing covid kits to every school.
While the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Commission on Higher Education
(CHED) worked hard to introduce distant and blended learning resources so that students may
continue learning while at home, many families have found coping with the new system to be
difficult and stressful. The lack of a stable Internet connection is one of the most prevalent
problems that families confront. At home, parents have also taken on the role of de facto teachers
or tutors for their children. As a result, in addition to coping with their employment issues, they
must also cope with the added load of educating their children.
In addition, Lot of problem has emerged when the DepEd and CHED decided to embrace
Online Blended Learning. Learners must have the latest or newest gadgets to use the internet
platforms (e.g. Android, IOs or Laptops). What is the significance of the term "newest" or
"latest"? This is due to the fact that you will never be able to download the program required for
this platform if you use an older phone model. This most recent or most recent device causes a
thousand problems. Also, many parents have lost their solid careers as a result of the pandemic.
As a result, parents are unable to provide their children with the most up-to-date technology. In
this situation, a youngster that does not have this latest will have the lowest chance of survival.
S/he may be forgotten or become extinct.
Moreover, in order to connect with the instructors, a robust, stable, and reliable network
connection is required. Even when there is no pandemic in the Philippines, poor connectivity is a
challenge that Filipinos suffer. Many leaners live in remote locations. Where network
connectivity is inadequate or non-existent. Let us stretch our thinking capacities to the point
where the online platform that the academe will use will DELIVER QUALITY EDUCATION
ONLY TO THOSE PRIVILEGED STUDENTS. Everyone is attempting to embrace your
platform, but not everyone has been blessed. Not everyone in your academe has a robust, stable,
and dependable network connection 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, which I feel will have an
impact on the learning process, as well as the validity and dependability of academic
achievement.
Finally, as stated in Charles Darwin's book "The Origin of Species," those students who
have the means and a trustworthy, powerful, and stable connection will be able to survive in this
environment. And those who do not have the financial means will never be able to survive in this
climate, which favors those who have. This shift in academia merely widens the gap between the
wealthy and the poor. It stresses the current status quo, in which the wealthy are at the top of the
food chain and the impoverished are at the bottom. Education is now considered a privilege.
These problems, of both children and their parents in coping with home-based education
will soon be eased with the gradual restoration of face-to-face lessons. Our dedicated teachers,
who have already given so much to guarantee that our children receive the high-quality
education they deserve even during the pandemic, will be relieved to be able to return to their
classrooms. As we gradually return to face-to-face lessons, it's only natural that steps be made to
safeguard our children from any infection. The gradual re-opening of face-to-face class will also
address the mental wellbeing of the learner and the teacher.
