TECHNICAL DRAWING 8 QUARTER 3 WEEK 1

I. Topic: Principles of Section View

II. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, you are expected to:
1. explain the principles involved in constructing section drawing;
2. identify and discuss the different section line symbols; and
3. appreciate the importance of section view.

III. Brief Introduction of the Lesson


As a student taking Technical Drawing you need to learn
the importance of section view in order to see
the inner parts of the object that are not seen
from the outside.
ISOMETRIC VIEW ISOMETRIC SECTION VIEW

Section view - a view used on a drawing to show an area


or hidden part of an object by cutting away
or removing some of that object.

Cutting plane - is a plane that cuts the object to reveal


clearly the inside parts that cannot be seen
from the outside. It’s like cutting an apple
in half.

Cutting plane line - shows where object was cut to obtain


the section view.

Different Kind of Section Lines Symbols

For practical purpose, the cast iron


symbol is used most often for
any materials.

IV. Activities:
Activity 1: Draw and copy the section view of fruit and vegetable slices shown/illustrated below.

Activity 2: Draw and copy the different type of section lines symbols.

Note: Combine the Activity 1 & 2 on a long size bond paper with borderline and title block.
Then submit your output to your teacher.
