ACTIVITY 1 - I Can Show You The Word…

Directions: Find the words related to electromagnetic wave theory, use RED pen in answering this
activity.

ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES

ACTIVITY 2 - Welcome to EM-bile Legend!

Directions: Imagine you are playing the famous online game Mobile Legend. The EM waves will be
your hero and the frequency and wavelength will be the level of its skill. Study Figure 3, identify the
electromagnetic waves and determine their wavelengths and frequency ranges in the table below.

JUST FOR FUN. An extra column is provided; you may name a hero in the famous online game
using the first letter of the EM waves you have identified. You may or may not answer this one.

JUST FOR FUN!

NAME A HERO in the
ELECTROMAGNETIC online game starting with
WAVELENGTH FREQUENCY
WAVE the first letter of the
identified electromagnetic
wave
Radio waves 1mm to 10,000km 300 GHz to
30Hz
Microwaves 1m to 1mm 300 MHz and
300 GHz
Infrared radiation 700nm to 1mm 430 THz to 300
GHz
Visible light 400 to 700nm 430-750 THz
Ultraviolet radiation 10 to 400nm 30 PHz to 750
THz
X-rays 10 picometers to 30 petahertz to
10 nanometers 30 exahertz
Gamma rays Less than 10 Greater than
picometers 1019
ACTIVITY 3 - Which is Which?

Directions: Study Figure 3 The Electromagnetic Spectrum. Answer the following questions below.
1. Which of the following EM Waves has the highest frequency?
Answer: Gamma rays has the highest frequencies.

2. Which of the following EM waves has the lowest frequency?

Answer: Radio waves has the lowest frequencies.

3. Which of the following EM waves has the shortest wavelength?

Answer: Gamma rays has the shortest wavelength.

4. Which of the following EM waves has the longest wavelengths?

Answer: Radio waves has the longest wavelength.

5. What do you think is the relationship between the wavelength and frequency of EM waves?
Answer:
The wavelength and frequency of EM waves are closely related. The higher the frequency, the shorter the
wavelength. Because all of the waves move through vacuum at the same speed, the number of wave crest
passing by a given point in one second depends on the wavelength.

There's nothing that I don't like in this lesson. The concept of Electromagnetic
waves is easy to understand. The 7 waves in Electromagnetic Spectrum is the
topic that I like the most. Since it was already discussed during the past grade
level, by discussing and learning it today, it's like new information were added
and my knowledge about this topic widen.
