The Philippines has been in a precarious situation since the

Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) spread to the country. The

administration has chosen to implement a lockdown in some areas of the

country. A number of industries have been forced to suspend their

operations, including the education sector. In addition, the government

advised citizens to continue their work online, which began the era of

online learning. Despite the outbreak, one of the methods for the

administration to keep the educational system running and students'

knowledge growing is through online learning. However, there are still

challenges that students and even the parents and teachers faced.

That’s why we tend to find solutions or how to cope with those

challenges or problems we have, especially in flexible learning. So the

researchers observed that based on the information that they gathered

in different resources, due to the absence of face-to-face classes there

are some students who encountered different challenges in flexible

learning that they tend to find solutions which are their coping

mechanisms. The researchers in this study used a descriptive research

design. It is a valid strategy for looking for particular information and as

a precursor to quantitative research Furthermore, they chose Social

Learning Theory because social learning theory takes into account how

people get influenced in terms of their learning. Based on scope and

delimitation its study focused on sixty (60) respondents who studies at

Metro Manila College under the strand of Humanities and Social

Sciences. The researchers used quota sampling in selecting their

respondents, one of the non-probability sampling techniques. This was

done in order to obtain first-hand information and to collect data to

enhance understanding and conduct an in-depth study on how to cope

with online learning, particularly in the Philippines' new education

system.
