Session Proper:
The two-hour session started at 2:17 in the afternoon attended by 38 Senior High School
Teachers with the preliminary activities of the program (stated above).

Performance of Group Activity and Video Presentation

The flow of the program started with attendees started with the activity called “Put a finger down
challenge” where it realizes every teacher's similarities and differences. Every teacher has the same
preferences and differences from lifestyles, interests, and preferences. A short video presentation
about multi-cultural to have more perspective of diversity and how does behavior towards diversity
affects other people. Participants were asked primary impressions from the video clip. From the
sharing of insights, it displayed that some people may have gone through a lot and some feel that
they are just starting from their endeavor, some have something to share and some are striving for
their needs and share. Some may agree or disagree with other people. Ma’am Macy E. Fresnoza
indicated these values to the students and the challenge on how to deal with them.

Multicultural and Global Literacy compared to 21 st Century Literacy

It was initially emphasized in virtual classrooms students were encouraged to show respect to
each other, to always do their best, and to support one another for the common goal of learning.
How literacy changes in the light of a vastly different world. Because of technology, students
have a wider perspective that sometimes it would be difficult for them to organize thoughts that is
ideal for their actual self and may change their views with internet or web access and exposure. The
importance of understanding diversity including differences share one commonality and the
teachers' responsibility to provide them with quality education was very essential in this period of
21st century literary.
Multiculturalism literacy incorporates the idea of diversity within learning through content,
integration, knowledge, construction, and an equity pedagogy that ensures students become literate
in cross-cultural awareness and appreciation. For teachers, it is important to include in the key
practices in the classroom for multicultural literacy was for teachers to not be color blind, label
students, and should be very careful in giving negative connotations to students about the diverse
background. As concluded in this topic, multiculturalism was easy to implement as teachers must

be compassionate and respectful to achieve these standards.

Human Development for Quality Education and Participation in the Economy

The discussion about human development focuses on the capability for long and happy life,
access to quality education, and participation in the economy. It was also mentioned that those
stated were able to attain in highly developed countries like Finland where there were learners have
the same quality of education while in some low developing countries the struggle to achieve quality
education was still present.
It was also stressed that human development is the concept of attaining a dignified life for all
interpreted as having a happy and long life. However, there were barriers in attaining this dignified
life such as ethnic, political, social, economic, and gender inequalities. The citation about the global
citizen may include the respect for all humans, respect for diversity, global competence, intercultural
understanding, and cultural intelligence by the Ontario Ministry of Education.
The participants/teachers were given the challenge to integrate through the activities for learners
to explore global literature. The learners may be able to promote and encourage inquiry, reasoning,
and problem-solving which also includes collaboration, understanding world culture, responsible
global citizenship, and becoming advocates for themselves to the place they live in.

Workshop applying Teaching Strategies and Developing Activities

 A fund game was facilitated to practice “Multicultural Literacy” where participants/teachers
were asked to describe Filipinos from different regions or provinces in one word.
 Reflection on the video presentation showing the measure how the students can improve and
can they be diverse as shown in the situation of the student or the character/s in the video
clips.
 State and consider in the lesson the content that depicts the competency and the performance
tasks given that includes the enhancement of global literacy and multicultural literacy.

Skills of Multicultural Teacher

On the last activity was a call for participants/teachers that no matter how hard it was, still there
was a need to create a space for students where they can be all welcome, a safe space. Therefore to
achieve those, one may have the following skills for a call for “Multicultural Teacher” such as
Flexibility and adaptability, Social skills and cross-cultural skills, ICT, Media, and Information
Literacy, Critical thinker and has Intellectual curiousity and creativeness
