1: PRONOUNS
I. LÝ THUYẾT:

Đại từ (pronouns) là từ dùng để thay thế cho danh từ, nhằm tránh việc lặp lại danh từ quá nhiều lần khi nói.
E.g: Do you like your brother? – No, I don’t like my brother. My brother is too noisy.
=> Do you like your brother? – No, I don’t like him. He is too noisy.

a. Phân loại đại từ:

Personal pronouns Possessive Possessive Reflexive pronouns
(Đại từ nhân xưng) adjectives pronouns (Đại từ phản thân)
Chủ ngữ (Subject) Tân ngữ (Object) (Tính từ sở hữu) (Đại từ sở hữu)
I me my mine myself
You you your yours yourself/yourselves

He him his his himself

She her her hers herself
It it its its itself
They them their theirs themselves

We us our ours ourselves

a. 1. Đại từ chỉ định: có 4 từ

1. This: cái này 3. These: những cái này
2. That: cái kia 4. Those: những cái kia

 Nếu các từ này + danh từ => Tính từ chỉ định

E.g: This school is big.
 Nếu các từ này đứng 1 mình => Đại từ chỉ định
E.g: This is my school.

a.2. Đại từ bất định

Loại Giải thích Ví dụ
Another + N số ít: một cái khác  Your shirt is dirty. You should put one another one.
Another/ Other + N(s): nhiều cái khác  He is playing football with two other boys.
Other
 Some people drink beer. Other people/ Others drink
Others/ The Others: đại từ = Other + N(s) wine.
other The other + N(s): (những) cái còn lại  I have 4 pencils. One is red. Another is blue.
Another is pink. The other (pencil) is grey.
The others The others = The other + N(s) I have 4 pencils. One is red. Another is blue. The others
are grey.

b. Chức năng và vị trí của đại từ:

c. Những lỗi thường gặp:

Dùng nhầm lẫn giữa Đại từ nhân xưng và Đại từ phản thân
Wrong:
 Bob and myself did this project together. (Bob và tôi cùng làm dự án này).
 These decisions were made by myself. (Quyết định này được thực hiện bởi tôi).
Correct:
 Bob and __________________ did this project together.
 These decisions were made by ______________.
