GRAMMAR: RELATIVE CLAUSE (MỆNH ĐỀ QUAN HỆ)

Who,whom,which,that,where,when,why.
1. who: người mà (thay cho chủ ngữ ) giống nhau ở 2 mệnh đề.
Ex: Tom is my friend. He( chủ ngữ của câu)----(who works at the bank.)
…who…….. + V
whom….S + V
Tom who works at the bank is my friend
B1: tìm chủ ngữ giống nhau ở 2 câu, gạch chân 2 chủ ngữ giống nhau đó.
B2: gạch bỏ chủ ngữ giống nhau ở câu số 2.
B3: bỏ chủ ngữ câu hai thay thành “who”.
B4: bê cả mệnh đề đã thay thế của câu 2 đặt ngay sau từ đã gạch chân ở
câu 1.
Ex: Nam is a good doctor. He ( who treats many patients).
Nam who treats many patients is a good doctor.
Ex; My father is intelligent. He (who is standing here.)
My father who is standing here is intelligent.
2. whom: thay thế cho túc từ của câu số 2.
whom
Ex: The student is good. I /met /her/ last week.( whom I met last week)
The student whom I met last week is good.
B1: tìm và gạch chân 2 từ giống nhau ở 2 câu.
B2: xét câu thứ 2 , xem từ giống nhau nó nằm trước hay sau động từ. nếu nằm sau
động từ thì từ đó là túc từ.
B3: bỏ túc từ ở câu 2 thay bằng “ whom”
B4: đưa “whom” đặt đầu câu 2.
B5: đem nguyên câu 2 đặt ngay sau từ mà ta gạch chân ở câu 1.
3. which: cái mà ( thay cho chủ từ hoặc túc từ chỉ vật)
Ex: This book is very expensive. It has a lot of good contents.
This book which has a lot of good contents is very expensive.
which
Ex: I love this book. I bought it in Paris.
I love this book which bought in Paris.
