Observation:

This was the first class I attended, before the class starts, our C.T asks as how are we and
how do we feel. She asked me what are my thoughts and what do I feel especially because this will
be the first time to attend the class and observe. My partner and co-S.T were deployed earlier and
had been to class yesterday so she is already somewhat familiar to the routine. I genuinely said
that I am nervous but also excited to learn a lot from her. She ran me the basics on classroom
management such as greetings, checking the attendance, prayer and also a recap about last topic
discussed. While discussing, I notice that a lot of the students are very participative and always
raising their hand, they also make sure to share their ideas about something. They are constantly
exchanging ideas which makes the class more interactive and fun, maybe it is because she uses
graphics or visual images and also played a video about the topic that makes it easier for the
students to understand the topic.
After the discussion, some students greeted us before leaving, they know us because we
already meet them personally during the face-to-face classes. After the class, Ma’am Alagon asked
us to stay for a little bit and talked about our observation, she also said that we will be teaching on
one of her class next week and we both got chills because we really thought that we will just be
observing for now, it was just my first day and second for my co-student teacher but we are already
asked to teach. And also, we got nervous a bit because seeing how the students participate in
today’s class, we were worried that what if we are not able to deliver the lesson and they got bored
or they will not learn from us. Pushing those thoughts aside, we still agreed because it is also a
challenge for us and also an opportunity to better ourselves and learn more about teaching and
handling class.

Observation:

This is my second class for today and also the last class for today. We will be observing
the BSED English 2-1. This will be the first time that I will see them because we haven’t got the
chance to meet them personally because of pandemic and all the classes were held online. Before
the class started, our C.T still reminded us about preliminaries in classroom management. She
introduced us again to the class and asked if one of us (her S.T) would like to volunteer to lead
the prayer and I did. After the prayer we did greetings again just to lighten up the mood, checked
the attendance, had a little recap if they remembered their last topic and started the lesson. Their
topic for today was about play & poetry. Just like in the previous class, Ma’am Alagon also includes
pictures and videos that helps the students to understand things more and easier. She proceeded
to discussed the topic about play, poetries, their types and more. The students were also very
active and participative during the discussion.

After the class, Ma’am Alagon gave the activity to them, discussed what they need to do
and dismissed the class. She asked us to stay and talked for a bit. She asked about our experience
for todays observation, the things that we noticed in her class, what are our thoughts and she also
asked us what are the things she did in her class that we like and what are the things we think she
should also do. I said I like the part where she puts images and videos because it helps explain
things especially to the visual learner students and it also lessens the student’s tendency to get
bored. She asked few more things and reminded us of a class that we will be handling next week.
She also tells us not to worry because she will be there and observe us and help us if we struggle
to explain things.
