Minutes of the Meeting

August 8, 2020, 9:00am

In order to provide an appropriate answer on the concerns and issues of some

teachers, parents and other members of the community and in preparation for the school
opening for S.Y. 2020-2021, the school head, Sir Rey O. Borillo held meeting together with
his 75 faculty members. The said meeting was in the form of virtual via google meet. It was
started at 9am and till at1pm in the afternoon.
Meeting Agenda:
 Updates on the preparation on the opening of classes
 Learning Modalities
 Other matters

At the start of the meeting the principal himself discussed the three critical resources
in learning: first is the principal who provide strategic direction in the school system and
develop standardized curricula and assess teaching method. Second is the teacher who plays
vital role and teach knowledge in the lives of the learners and lastly the learner who plays a
crucial and active role in education.

A learning continuity plan seek to ensure that pupils’ learning progresses even amidst
COVID -19. There are some revisions with regards to LCP of MES towards distance
learning. According to Sir Rey we need to innovate our method in using current
technologies. Regular reporting of the teacher thru google meet, zoom apps and any mood of
communication should be observed. He also mentioned to consider those teachers who will
take maternity leave and will be retired. He also added that Kindergarten modules has
already been accomplished while Grade one to Grade 6 modules are still in the process of
printing and will wait for further announcements. Learners Materials should also be needed
to prepare in order to provide children supplementary learning resources.

Meanwhile, communication is a means of transmitting message that shared

understanding and it is also important to teacher in delivery of education to learners. The
school head informed the teachers to not be hesitant to report to the master teacher whatever
problems may occur. He also enumerated the flow of communication: Division personnel to
principal, principal to teachers then teachers to pupils and parents.

Furthermore, to better facilitate the teaching learning process for the School Year
2020-2021, the principal requested the teachers of the following: provide specific procedures
in preparing lessons using the IDEA instructional process and teacher should be creative in
designing lessons. Because modules are still in the process of printing, he expected that
teachers have already an idea on what to teach on the first week of class. Lesson exemplar
must be anchored to most essential learning competencies (MELCs)

For this reason, the principal advised the teachers to broaden their mind and be
creative in delivering quality education despite on the very short allotted time in online
teaching. He also mentioned that as much as possible there is one exemplar in an online class
and 4 subjects in a day. Since parents and other member of the family will take the
responsibility of monitoring the learners progress, noting details and comprehensive
instruction must be well explained to them. The school head also suggested to have a
brainstorm both the online and modular teachers for them to come up in a similar instruction.
Meanwhile, duplication of coding in modules should be avoided, and this will be according to
the number of pupils. During the distribution of modules, male teachers must not be given
task because they will serve as errand. Teachers must also be distributed equally in the four
pick-up areas. Because the school is one of the facilities for the patient of Covid-19, ALS
school will serve as the office of the Mayapa Es for the mean time.

Different suggestions were raised during the meeting on how and where the modules
will be placed in order to intact them and to avoid the spread of the virus. Some of the
suggestions were expanded envelope, folders and adventure bag. Another teacher proposed
to use sticker paper for the coding of the modules, but it is quite expensive thus, the principal
encourage the teachers to communicate to the parents to bring sticker paper. In addition, Miss
Jayne Adriano asked some questions such as would it be alright to post the names of the
learners in the face book, are modules the same with what were used during the dry run and
lastly are answer sheets would be provided by the parents? All these queries were answered
precisely by the principal.

Last but not the least, Mrs. Maricel G. Cubio presented the Learning Continuity Plan
which seeks to ensure the student’s learning progresses even amidst COVID-19. Some of her
presentation were the number of pupils as of July 15, School Operational Resources,
Teachers, deployment matrix, Class schedule for the S.Y. 2020-2021 for modular and online
class, process flow for Modular and Online learning and Distribution and Retrieval scheme.
Sir Rey Borillo requested the teachers to pay attention for the following before the opening of
classes. Some of these were: preparatory activity, implementation and post implementation.
He also mentioned that 83% of the parents have already been reached out for the orientation.
In addition, the school head also shared what the Schools Division Superintendent believes
that “It takes a village to educate a child. Teacher should transform how they teach online
and teachers should design effective synchronous and asynchronous learning activities that
enable sustained engagement. To be able to do these, teachers should always be creative

because creativity is limitless. The school head encourage teachers to share their knowledge
to the learners beside communication is still the key. However, teacher empowerment should
not be abused instead we should keep in our mind the teacher is the noblest profession. That
teacher should be proud because the future depends on us. Since it’s new normal, the
principal reiterates that in this new normal, teachers always uphold the right to high-quality
education by providing multiple pathways to learning that can accommodate every learner.
Set aside everything instead we should focus on our work and think positive. Finally, he
ended his meeting with the saying, “Arangkada Mayapa, One for All, All for one”
