I. Introduction

As mandated by the Philippine Constitution the Department of Education School Sports Program
shall enhance knowledge, skills, attitudes and values of Filipinos to lead productive lives. This sectoral
goal will be done through the implementation of basic education curriculum program and school sports
program. Having such activity is not that easy there are lots of considerations, many individuals to
collaborate for a greater and productive outcome and so much of patience, efforts and dedication of each
individual involved to make this activity a successful one.
The MAPEH Coordinator, Marvin T. Gamboa called a Club meeting on August 3, 2018
regarding the target outputs of the club for the current school year. This includes the conduct of annual
intramurals, , delegating of sports event to each coach, the upcoming First Leg Division Meet, and other
related matters in MAPEH.

In preparation of the event, MAPEH club officers headed by Princess Alyana Agapito (Club
President), and Dexter John C. Dela Cruz ( Vice President) fixed the facilities and equipment needed in
the event, including the lining of courts, balls and nets, board games equipment, programs, and stage
decoration.
Now, the moment has come. August 23, 2018 was a rainy afternoon, the sports fest was
supposed to start with a parade of delegation at 1pm but due the continuous rain, the parade started at
2pm. The bad weather cannot stop the burning desire of the PISians to continue the event.
The program was started with a doxology (dance- You Raise Me Up) by Clyde Pablo and Allizon
Agustin (both Grade 10), followed by the singing of the National Anthem conducted by Mrs. Mylene D.
Alfaro. The program was grace by opening remarks given by Mr. Marvin T. Gamboa- MAPEH
Coordinator- Secondary.
The athletes inspired by the message of Dr. Alma Bida B. Sunio, Principal I of Palagay
Integrated School. Dr. Sunio challenged all the PISians to execute all the sports with discipline as real
athletes.
 Each team yell and shout as the master of ceremony, Ms. Arli May Pararuan, introduced them
one by one. The Torch that symbolizes “Sportsmanship” was lighted by the selected PISians from
elementary and secondary level, followed by the pledge of sportsmanship by Ms. Agapito.
The crowed were excited as the elimination of Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2017 started right after
the formal opening declaration of Mrs. Sunio . Each team’s representative was dressed up good and
believe it or not, judges were having difficulty that time in choosing the title because each representative
were equally beautiful and well presented. At the end, Tristan Kurt S. Samatra ( G9 ) and Rochelle R.
Mercado (G9) crowned as Mr. and Ms. Intrams 2018 Due to continuous rainfall games were adjusted in
the afternoon. Instead of simultaneous sports activity, athletics was cancelled and rescheduled on the
second day and the volleyball which was about to play in the open field was started and played inside
the barangay gymnasium of Palagay right after the Search for Mr. and Ms. Intrams. The badminton was
played after the volleyball and then volleyball again after the elimination in badminton. Athletics were
played on the second day as well as the chess and Sepak Takraw. Each sports event became successful
through the efforts of assigned tournament supervisors with the help of Jericho and Stephanie ( both
alumni of PIS).
Awarding ceremony was held on August 25, 2018 during the flag raising ceremony. Yellow
Team awarded as the Over-all 3rd Runner-up, Green Team was the Over-all 2nd Runner-up, Blue Team
ranked as the over-all 1st Runner-up, and Red Team entitled as the Over-all Champion for the
Intramurals 2017.
The Intramurals 2018 was served as a recreational activity which relieved the stress felt by the
students in the usual teaching-learning process done in a classroom setting. It was a very great activity to
start this school year but the challenge is not yet over. Aside from having it as for recreational purposes
it also serves as the elimination process to select the best athletes who will represent the school in the
forthcoming First Leg Division Meet on September 16, 2018 (and every Saturday of the month of
September-October). The MAPEH Club was very happy for the success of this activity and hoping that
the school will produce more athletes who will represent the school in the upcoming higher meets
especially in the Palarong Pambansa.

Ma’am:
I have the honor to submit the Project Proposal in the conduct of INTRAMURALS 2018 at Palagay
Integrated School, from August 23 and 24, 2018 with the theme: “Building Camaraderie and Unity through
Sports”.

The objectives of this activity are the following:

1. To enhance the students’ talent on different sports they chose to play;
2. To provide an opportunity for students to develop sportsmanship, to gain leadership skills, professional skills,
qualifications and work experience through participating in the program;
3. To provide opportunity for participants to play in a variety of sports in a competitive and amusing ambiance;
4. To provide an opportunity to make social contacts and friendships;
5. To provide wholesome and healthy activities for recreation;
6. To provide a successful intramural Sports program to everyone!
7. Attached herewith are the activities and committees/facilitators.
