1. 【Objective】
Commit to the development of martial arts (Wushu) culture, through video representation to
promote martial arts (Wushu) culture to the world.

2. 【Positioning】
Set martial arts (Wushu) culture as a benchmark to create the most recognised activity in the
region.

3. 【Theme】
“Connecting the World through Wushu Culture”

4. 【The Best Video Award (Group Events)】


A. Theme :Inheriting culture and Promoting martial arts (Wushu)
B. Requirements/ Eligibility
a) Registration must be made in the name of a group
b) Each group can only submit one (1) video (not allowed to participate in A/B team
names)
c) Certificates of participation or award certificates are only awarded to participating
groups.
5. 【The Best Video Award (Individual Events)】
A. Theme:My Martial Arts (Wushu) Story
B. Requirements/ Eligibility
a) Junior Category: Actors must be 15 years old or below (born in 2007 or later).
b) Open Category: Actors must be 16 years old or above (born in or before 2006).
c) Registration must be made in the name of an individual
d) Each participant may submit only one submission of video
e) The number of participating people in the production of the work is not limited, but
the content or filming must mainly focus on the protagonist (the actor).
f) Certificates of participation or award certificates are only awarded to the
protagonist (the actor).

6. 【 Video Requirements】
a) Participants must name their video(s) (i.e. each video must have a title).
b) The duration of the video(s) is set to be between 170-210 seconds.
c) Must not contain any religious, political or sensitive content
d) Must be of participant’s original work
e) No restriction on the use of any languages
f) Themes can be expressed in different forms, eg: stories or thematic discussions.
The content of the works can be freely developed and created as long as conforming to
the theme.
g) Must be submitted in MP4 format with a resolution of no less than 1280 x720 and a
maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080.
h) Must include landmark buildings or cultural buildings or tourist attractions or folk
customs or local delicacies in the region where the participating unit is located.
i) Contents of the video(s) are limited to international competition wushu, traditional
Chinese wushu, duel training, Sanda, Chinese wrestling, Tai Chi push hand , dragon and
lion elements (must contain martial arts elements).

8. 【Voting Rules for Popularity Award】
a) The shortlisted works will be displayed on the official website platform of the "2nd
International Wushu Culture Video Competition" and online voting will be opened.
b) Voting Period: 22th to 31st August 2022

9. 【Outstanding Director Award】


a) If the same director wins more than one video, only one award will be awarded.

10. 【Judge Committee and Judging Criteria】


a) The Judge Committee will consist of a number of international martial art judges,senior
martial artists,senior cultural and film and television practitioners from various
countries invited by the organiser.
b) There will be no appeal or arbitral panel in the competition. The judge's decision is final.
c) The organiser has the final right to interpret the rules and regulations of the competition.
If there are any discrepancies between the Chinese version and the English version of
the rules and regulations of the competition, the Chinese version shall prevail.。
d) Grading standard:
Contents 40%;Martial Arts (Wushu) Presentation 20%;Shooting Technique 20%;Cultural
Elements 20%

Grading Items Grading Standard

Contents (40%) From the perspective of the conception, material selection, ideological level,
theme and social effects of the work.
Clear themes, healthy and positive content with positive energy

Martial Arts The Chinese martial arts covered in the videos, such as: international
(Wushu) competitions and traditional martial arts routines (including combinations) /
Presentation Sanda / Tai Chi / Tai Chi Push Hand / Chinese Wrestling, etc. The quality of
(20%) the actor's martial arts movements, the level of skills and the presentation of
difficult moves are used as scoring criteria.

Shooting The quality of the actor's martial arts movements, the level of skills and the
Technique (20%) presentation of difficult stance are used as scoring criteria.
Considering the framing, angle, arrangement, and sound effects of the work,
including voice, background music, effect sound, soundtrack, etc., the editing,
switching, and post-production stunt effects used in the video, as well as the
performance and visual impact of the effect on the theme.

Cultural Elements The characteristic and correctness of cultural elements adopted, such as
(20%) cultural buildings, tourist attractions, respective local landmark buildings, folk
customs such as national culture dances, etc.

Deductions Other issues identified by judges as technical problems that hinder the quality
of the work.
If the plot or the content does not match the title of the video, points will be
deducted.
Duration of work more than the maximum or less than the minimum
requirement by:
1-10 seconds: 0.5 points deduction
11-20 seconds: 1 points deduction
And so on
11. 【Rules and Regulations】
a) Videos submitted will not be returned.
b) Late submission will not be graded.
c) The judges will have the final decision on the results and ranking of the competition.
d) Videos that have been published or participated in any
competition/performance/commercial event or promotional films, their submission will
be disqualified.
e) If the video is found to violate the competition rules, intellectual property laws,
Malaysian Laws or respective local laws, the organiser reserves the right to disqualify
the submission and retrieve the awarded prizes if any.
f) If the content of the video involves politics, sensitive issues, violence, pornography, foul
language, indecent language and any offensive language and behaviour, the organizer
reserves the right to disqualify the submission.
g) Once the video is submitted, the copyright of the video belongs to the organiser, and the
organiser has the right to copy, edit, publish, display, broadcast, promote, use, upload to
the internet and/or use it for promotional and publicity purposes for future events.
h) The organiser reserves the final decision on the rules of the competition, and the right to
amend the terms and conditions of the competition without prior notice.
i) Winning groups may be asked to take photos when registering to claim their prizes. All
award-winning groups/individuals will automatically agree that all photos will be used
to announce the results of the awards and be published on all platforms of the
Organiser, including Facebook pages or various promotional publications and online
platforms.
j) The video must be an original work produced by participants and have the relevant
intellectual property rights of the work such as images and sounds. Any usage of
licensed music and video clips must be indicated in the video. Any form of plagiarism
will be disqualified. Any claim arising out of any relevant copyright legislation or claim
from video that is not original will be the responsibility of the relevant participant and
the organiser shall not be liable in any matter.
k) The participants must comply with the relevant regulations of the local government on
Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control when recording the competition video,
conduct the performance and recordings under safety measures.
l) The participants are fully responsible for all safety responsibilities that occur during the
process of participating in this competition, including the video recording, and the
organiser does not assume any responsibility.
m) In addition to video submission, each participant may submit an additional
"self-introduction clip" of no more than 30 seconds (not mandatory), and the organiser
will assist in uploading the appropriate video to the official website for promoting
purposes.
