Subject: Motivating Remote Students

The reports address the issues and solutions of current online studying due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as our
international college students are attending classes online remotely from their countries. After the survey and
feedback from them, we have got some points in attention which need to be resolved. Which are mentioned
below.
The online learning platform is very fast, easy and efficient in distance learning but issues like lack of
motivation in students, infrastructural problems like internet, electricity, and lack of tech knowledge. Our
online learning is flexible as we always try to schedule classes according to the right timing and availability for
both students and professors.
Conclusion: The main agenda is to create a good learning environment for both sides for work-study balance
easier. Online study requires skills like self-discipline, communication and hunger for knowledge. Online
studies have benefits like comments and views with transparency to modules and courses and lectures.
Transparency is important to everyone.
To our knowledge, most of the students are happy with their experience but the most similar comment was
that missing social events and meeting face-to-face interaction with classmates and teachers somehow
creates less interest as compared to offline studies on campus. Other issues are like:
1. Technical issues are very common as some countries don’t have good sources of the internet in a few
areas.
2. Timing problems as different nations follow different time zones.
3. One-on-online communication and interaction.
4. At last, the real meet face-to-face issue but due to covid-19 restrictions unfortunately some things
can’t be changed right now but we have some solutions for these issues, which are mentioned below.

Solutions and recommendations are:

 Virtual event: Organizing online extracurricular activities where students can participate and show
their talents.
Proposal:(Weekend schedules are handled and managed via class representatives and leaders.)
 Expert lectures: from the fields to increase knowledge and interest.

 Open house group sessions: to join and communicate with friends and classmates and others of the
institute.
 Breakouts sessions: one on one interactions and group discussions.
 Tasks and games: While lectures and long sessions including small tasks and games to gain audience
interest, Real-life examples and story sharing to ice break. Students enjoy interactions and
communications box knowledge.
 Productive knowledge: Online sources are lengthy and vast, and some are non-credible, so each
lecture should be with credible sources and explanatory with examples.
 Budget and funds: Student Union funds and college contribution to study materials and expert
lectures.
Communication: Platforms like zoom, blackboard, Moodle, google meet, what’s an app and Facebook
interactions with study groups. And online Lunch meetings for interested group members.
o Issues like electricity and internet can’t are resolved from the institute side so we better recommend
them group interactions with other classmates and contact instructors via email to inform.
For above all proposed solutions, time management is the key to handling everything. the recommendation is
to appoint a time manager head and a community of students who can handle the tasks.
As we must continue online studies until further notice but higher authorities and the government. Online
study management is important because it will shape the student’s future and no proper learning might lead
to bad results. All the above recommendations are proposed after students’ feedback.
