IV. PROCEDURES
The students will play a gameshow quiz on Wordwall entitled, “WHAT’S MY TITLE”.
Students will choose the correct answer. At the end of the game, the top three highest

The teacher will ask the following questions while checking their answers:
1. Who among you have watched this movie? Did you like it or not? Why? Would you
recommend watching this to us?
2. Is Heneral Luna a Hero? What can you say about his personality and actions? What did
you discover that you never knew existed in the Philippine History?
3. What is your favorite song in the movie Encanto? Why? To which character were you
able to relate yourself? What kind of issues are they having?

After checking, the teacher will ask the students what could be the topic for today. The
students may guess by taking a hint from the game.
The teacher will discuss on how to compose an independent critique of a chosen selection
or film.

B. Development The teacher will ask the students about the difference of critique and critic.

The teacher will ask the students the importance of writing a critique.

The teacher will divide the class into four groups using through Randomlists.com.

The students will have a break-away room using Google Meet and Canva. The
C. Engagement teacher will send the links in the class Group Chat. Students are allowed to turn-
on their microphones while working on their answers in Canva.

Students will identify the shuffled parts of the movie review in each slide. They
will work collaboratively to finish the task within ten minutes.

The teacher will recap the lesson by asking the students with these questions:
 What is a critique?
 How is critique different from critic?

 What is the most important lesson did you learn today?

Students will do the last task. They will identify the statements by writing MOVIE
if it’s true and REVIEW if it’s false.

1. Movie review is an example of a critique.


2. An effective movie review consists only of the writer’s opinion.
3. Writing a movie review allows the writer to criticize a film and its
elements as well as to give their biased impression about the entire film.
4. Creating a product review is also an example of writing a critique.
5. An effective movie review should include the writer’s opinion and
evaluation of the film told in an unbiased and objective approach.

Before ending the lesson, the teacher will explain the instructions regarding the
Performance Task for Week 3.
