A. Program Title NUTRITION MONTH CELEBRATION

B. Program Description Bais City National Science High School aims to


conduct a week-long celebration of Nutrition
Month 2022 with the theme “New Normal na
Nutrisyon, Sama-samang Gawan ng Solusyon!”.
This week-long celebration is composed of
activities that promotes healthy nutrition and
targets not just the students but the community as
well. These series of activities will not only
promote good nutrition but will provide the
students, teachers, parents and stakeholders better
understanding on the importance of nutrition
improvement through strengthened nutrition
intervention in the new normal setting.

I. Budget Requirement The expenses for the said activity shall be


charged against the school MOOOE fund for S.Y.
2022-2023.

II. RATIONALE

Pursuant to Section 7 of Presidential Decree No. 491 or better known as the “Nutrition Act of
the Philippines”, nutrition month is celebrated every year in the month of July. This year’s
nutrition month theme, “New Normal na Nutrisyon, Sama-samang Gawan ng Solusyon!”, calls
for strengthened nutrition interventions and solidarity towards nutrition improvement as the
country shifts towards living with the COVID-19 virus. The theme signifies the key role of
nutrition in building resilience from pandemic to endemic paradigm.
According to the National Nutrition Council, the nutrition month campaign aims to highlight
the importance of nutrition in recovery, stimulate discussions on how to build back better the
design and delivery of nutrition interventions, and encourage the participation of various sectors
to promote nutrition. The campaign calls upon stakeholders to implement evidence-based and
innovative solutions to increase resilience and improved nutrition outcomes.
In accordance of the aforementioned, Bais City National Science High School enjoins the
call to participate in this year’s celebration of the nutrition month with the purpose of
incorporating to the teachers, students, parents and other stakeholders the importance of
promoting, developing, and improving one’s nutrition. These are all integrated on each of the
activities planned to be conducted on its week-long celebration of the said program.
III. OBJECTIVES

This one-week activity specifically aims to:


1. Provide avenue for the learners of Bais City National Science High School to
participate in the national call for innovative ideas in delivering interventions that
foster promotion and improvement of nutrition through creative representations.
2. Promote wellness and healthy habits to the learners through a symposium facilitated
by a health practitioner; and
3. Maximize opportunities for better and wider coverage of health and nutrition
advocacy through close collaboration with various partners and stakeholders at the
school level.

IX. EXPECTED OUTCOMES

At the end of the week-long celebration of the Nutrition Month 2022:


1. The learners of Bais City National Science High School have actively participated
in the various activities conducted that raised promotion and improvement of
nutrition;
2. The learners gained knowledge and better understanding regarding healthy habits
in the new normal setting;

3. The school have better and stronger ties with the parents and the community in
achieving one common goal which is the promotion of nutrition to improve
everybody’s wellness.
