Part 2 Training on KALAHI-CIDSS Additional Financing Program Implementation Process

FEED BACKING SESSION

DAY 1
JULY 29, 2021

The feedbacking sessions started

at 7o clock in the evening. Both class 1
and class 2 merged to summarize
feedbacking for day one experiences
and concerns.
The training team facilitated the
feedbacking session, and this is to
assess and evaluate what went right and
what went wrong on the 3-day training in
the following areas: facilitators, resource persons, venue, food, and the overall training
settings.
The session was headed by Mr. Arcel Gregory Baritua, a Training Specialist, and
two representatives from each participating municipality participated. It was also
attended by all the resource persons, facilitators, and documenters. Everyone was
encouraged to voice out their observations to help the training team improve the
facilitation on the remaining days of the training.
The participants raised the following points on the first day of training and were
considered “WHAT WENT RIGHT.”
 The idea to let the MCTs report during workshop presentations is excellent for
gaining confidence in themselves, especially during their fieldwork.
 The facilitation of the Resource speakers was good.
 The training can also be considered as a refresher course for senior KALAHI
staff.
 Every participating municipality was able to learn from each other.
 Despite the existing implementation of the RDANA, it was good to know that
some confusing points were given clarity and corrections.
 They were glad they were able to attend a refresher course for them to relay in
the barangay.
 They were thankful that the new staff of KALAHI were able to gain new
knowledge in a brief period that would help them meet the team’s goal.
 Happy that they were on board in work.
 This training enhanced and strengthened the goal of the DSWD, which is to
empower the community.

FEED BACKING SESSION

 Despite the power interruption, the training went smoothly, and a 5-star rate was
given to the whole training team.
 A rate of 4 was given for the overall presentation, handling, and servings of food.
 There was excellent interaction between Trainor’s and participants.
 The speakers were knowledgeable on their topics.
 The venue was conducive for learning

However, because of apparent lapses on the first day of training, the participants
pointed out many points and regarded them as the “WHAT WENT WRONG.” Here as
follows:
 There were no drinking waters in every room.
 The participants have observed that the way the rooms were designated would
infringe physical distancing since the participants will share beds.
 The virtual lesson was not clear, unlike face-to-face.
 They have observed that lessons were quite long.
 There was no extra bed for Room 104.

Upon hearing these points from the

participants and before their dismissal,
the training team, especially Mr. Baritua,
assured everyone that these points were
noted and will immediately be given
comprehensive solutions.

In addition, Mr. Alberto Suello CDO III and the rest of the training team expressed
these to the plenary as follows:
 Thankful for the early arrival of some participants
 The timetable was not followed. Nevertheless, the participants were active in
every workshop conducted.
 The training team appreciated everyone, especially the MCTs, for their active
participation in the workshops and discussions.
 The energy of the resource speaker and translates from the energy and
willingness to learn given by the participants.

The feedbacking session with the participants ended at around 8’o clock in the
evening.

FEED BACKING SESSION

The training team stayed for a few more minutes to discuss the actions needed
to cater to the lapses on the first training day. It was observed that the program
schedule was still not followed like on the first batch. The facilitators should remind the
participants to stick to the time given to them not to compromise the other topics and
workshops. The training team should set an example for the participants on following
the health protocols.
The meeting was adjourned before 9o clock in the evening.

DAY 2
JULY 30 2021
The second day of training ended at around 4 p.m. Before the dismissal,
everyone was again reminded that a feed backing session would be facilitated after
dinner, with the same instruction that two representatives from each municipality should
attend.
The feed backing session for day two started at 7 p.m. Mr. Arcel Baritua again
headed this with the same goal: to get aware, assess, and evaluate what went right and
what went wrong on the 3-day training on the following areas: facilitators, resource
person, venue, food, and the overall training settings.
This time, the participants raised the following points on the second day of
training and were considered “WHAT WENT RIGHT.”
 Standard Health Protocols were strictly followed during the entire training.
 It was an excellent idea to break the class into two classes to avoid spreading the
virus.
 The participants appreciated the enthusiasm and effort of the whole training team
to hold excellent training.
 The idea of giving the workshops ahead of the lectures is practical and efficient
 Although they woke up early for the training and were exhausted, they’re excited
about the face-to-face training.
 There is a big difference between online and face-to-face training. Training like
this would not only allow the participants to learn but also to interact with other
participants.
 The facilitators were quick and sensitive enough to make the training livelier by
using different ice breakers.
 The workshops are the training ground for the new Community Facilitator (CF) to
build character and confidence.

FEED BACKING SESSION

However, for the “WHAT WENT WRONG,” the following points were raised:
 The continuous power interruption caused a delay to the virtual session.
 The conduct of the training was a little since the project was already
implemented.
 Some of the participants were not happy to have face-to-face training since we
are still amidst a pandemic. This training is too risky for all.
 It was observed that Physical distancing was not followed at times during
workshops.
 The food was too oily for liking.
 Headache was felt for the face shield because the screen was unclear.
 It was suggested that since technical issues are apparent, copies of the
discussions should be given ahead of time

Upon hearing these points from the participants and before their dismissal, the
training team, especially Mr. Baritua, assured everyone that these points were noted
and will immediately be given comprehensive solutions. The feed backing session with
the participants ended at around 8o clock in the evening.
