1. Definition
Manual Prosedure is a text that tell the steps of making
something. It’s purpose to tell the steps of making and
doing something.

2. Social Functions:
a. To describe how something is done in sequenced
steps.
b. To provide the reader how to do something while
allowing them to reach the outcome succesfully
c. To tell the steps of making or doing something.

3. General Structures:
a. Aim/goal: to describe the purpose of doing and
operating something.
b. Material/equipment: describes the materials or
equipments needed in the process of doing or
operating something.
c. Steps/method: describes the set of instructions in
order to achieve the goal.

4. Significant Lexico-Grammatical Features:


a. Use of simple present tense.
b. Using adverbial of sequence or using temporal
adjectives.
c. Using imperative sentences or command.
d. Using action verbs.
e. Using conjunctions to link a process to another
process.
f. Using adverb of time to express details of time.

1. Definition
Recipe is a text that explain or helps us how to make or
to cook something.

2. Generic Structures:
a. Goal
b. Material or Ingredients
c. Steps

3. Social/Language Functions:
a. To describe how food is completely made or cooked
through a sequence of series.
b. To describe how food is completely made through
sequence of actions or steps.

4. Language Features:
a. Noun or noun groups: it used in the listed materials
or equipment.
b. Conjunction: to connect clauses or sentences or to
coordinate words in the same clause.
c. Action verbs: expresses an action.
d. Imperatives: gives a command.
e. Adverbial: word or phrase functioning like an adverb
(adverb of sequence and adverb of time, place or
manner).
f. Vocabulary
g. Language: it supposed to be clear and precise.
h. Tenses: Present tense.

Learning Activity 3: (Itinerary)

1. Definition
Itinerary is a schedule of events relating to a planned
travel which is generally including destinations to be
visited at a specific time and the means of
transportation to move between those destination.

2. Generic Structures:
a. Goal/aim.
b. Materials/tools.
c. Steps: lists of instruction to achieve the objective in
the correct sequences of step.

3. Social / Language Functions:


a. To make a well prepared program or travel.
b. To make an affective journey or travel.
c. To be a guideline in spending time during travelling.
4. Language Features:
 Using simple present tense.
 Use action verb.
 Use simple sentence or phrase.

Learning Activity 4: (News Item)

1. Definition
News items is a text which informs readers about
events of the day. The event are considerd newsworthy.
It’s purpose to give information about important events.

2. Generic Structures:
a. Newsworthy events.
b. Background of events/elaboration.
c. Sources/resources of information.

3. Social Functions:
To inform readers, listeners, or viewers about events of
the day which is considered newsworthy or important.

4. Language Features:
a. Using action Verb.
b. Using saying Verb.
c. Using passive voice.
d. Using adverb; time, place and manner.
e. Tenses.
f. Language.
