My First Limited Face-to-Face Return Demonstration
As a student nurse and a future healthcare professional worker, it is required for us to perform
Return Demonstrations to pave the way for student nurses to gain knowledge of the different nursing
procedures, and enables us to grasp ideas of what nurses actually do in the hospitals or communities
when they take care of patients and of how they do these procedures to them. But since we are in the
midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were only obliged to execute our return demonstrations, either by
live demonstration or recorded video.

Last week, I have executed for the first time through limited face-to-face my Return
Demonstration regarding oral care. As my first time, since we are used to perform it live through Google
meet or recorded videos, I was a bit nervous. I was the first one to execute out of all my other
classmates. But after I started doing my return demonstration, I felt fulfilled since I was able to do it
well with the help of our Clinical Instructor, Ma’am Valerie, who is truly kind and approachable. She
was able to guide each of us while performing the demonstration to ensure that we can be able to
perform the oral care properly in which we can apply when taking care of our patients soon in the near
future. It was a good experience because we get to have fun and enjoy, while learning or studying. The
Return Demonstration also started in time, that is why we are able to finish early even though we were 6
students about to perform one by one that day.

In conclusion, my first time doing my Return demonstration through face-to-face was a good
start indeed, through the help of my classmates and Ma’am Valerie. We were also able to converse face-
to-face, and not just the actual virtual communication. It was truly fun and I really enjoyed my face-to-
face demonstration. I look forward to my next Return demonstrations to also have a smooth flow and I
expect that we can be able to enjoy while learning.
