Introduction:-

This is a load bearing structure the load from POLE base is transferred to the wall.Then the checking of load bearing structure
wall A-A & B-B are manually done.

During design & analysis the dead load, live load & Pole support reaction only to be considered .

Minimum thickness of wall :-

(Prepared as per IS: 1905-1987 , Cl-4.6.1)

Maximum slenderness ratio (S.Rmax) = 27

Height (H) = (FP) + (GF) +(Slab thickness )/2

Height (H) = 5.1 m

Minimum thickness of wall required = [(0.75*H)/S.Rmax]

= [(0.75*5.1)/ 27]

= 0.14
Therefore thickness of wall Tw = 0.23 > 0.14

Calculation of loads :

(i) Slab load:

Self weight of Slab = Thickness of slab x Density of concrete

Self weight of Slab = 3.13 kN/m²

Mud Phuska = 2.00 kN/m²

Floor finish load = 1.00 kN/m²

Live load on room = 2.00 kN/m²

Live load on Terrace = 1.50 kN/m²

A Slab load on wall = 25.00 kN/m²


Effective Area of Slab = 1.74 m²

Slab load distributed on wall = Effective area of Slab load X (slab load on wall)

Slab load distributed on wall = 43.56 kN/m²

Per meter load on wall = 16.50 kN/m

Total UDL on wall A-A by slab = 16.50 kN/m

(ii) Wall load:

Self load of wall 0.26X13X20x0.8 = 52.42 kN/m

Total load on wall = 68.92 kN/m

CHECK : ( Critical unit length of wall )

Compresive strength of wall :

Area of section(per meter length) = 0.26 m²

Compressive stress at wall base (excluding Pole Load) = 0.2651 N/mm²

(iii) Pole reaction load:

Load on wall by Pole as per support reaction = 18.47 kN

Compressive stress (Due to Pole) = 0.027 N/mm²

Total Compressive stress at Wall Base = 0.292 N/mm²

(i) Slab load:

Self weight of Slab = Thickness of slab x Density of concrete
