Instructional Planning

(The process of systematically planning, developing, evaluating and managing the instructional
process by using principles of teaching and learning - D.O. 42, s. 2016)

Detailed Lesson Plan (DLP) Format

Learning Competency/ies: Discuss the interactions among living things and non-living things in Code:
(Taken from the Curriculum Guide) estuaries and intertidal zone S5LTIIh-8 (Day 2 of 5)
Estuaries - are body of water near the coast where fresh water from rivers and streams flows
into the ocean and mixes with salt water.
Intertidal zone – is known as the area where land meets the sea, between high and low tide.
This area is covered with water at high tide, and exposed to air at low tides.
Key Concepts / Understandings to be Producers – are green plants that capture energy and use it to produce food from inorganic
Developed compounds.
Consumers - are organisms that eat other organisms.
Scavengers – are consumers that eat the bodies of already-been-killed animals.
Decomposers – are break down remains of dead organisms.

( estuary – bird, snake, grass, algae, small fish, frog, duck, grasshopper, large fish,
zooplankton, bacteria)
(intertidal zne – crab, squid, octopus, sea star, turtle, jelly fish dolphin, blue whale, big eyed
tuna)

3. How do they depend on one another?
(Small animals depends on plants while larger animals depends on small animals.)

There are many types of animals found in estuary. The amazing diversity of the animals in the
estuary are helped and supported by the complex food web in the place.
Many species of animals and plants stay in the intertidal zone. Most of the animals are

invertebrates that constitute a wide group of organisms.
