WEEK 1: CAUGHT IN THE ACT

A. PREPARING FOOD FOR CELEBRATING BIRTHDAYS

Celebrating birthdays especially with food is
special for everyone. It is a special time of
the year where we celebrate someone’s
birthday we’re not only celebrating the length
of their lives but we celebrate how much
they’ve grown during the past years. It is the
time where every person will show them how
special and loved they are. It is ethical since
families have the responsibility to celebrate
birthdays to let them know that they are
being cared for. It is also standard to
celebrate birthdays even without having that
much food.

B. HELPING ELDERS
As part of the youth, we have the
responsibility to respect and to help others as
well as elders when they are in need. I
believe that we have this duty as we have
the potential to do activities with ease in our
daily lives compared to them they are in
need of assistance as their bodies don’t work
with its full potential. It is ethical since elders
must respect and it is normally done in our
community.
UNETHICAL
A. SLACKING OFF WHEN NO ONE IS WATCHING
Slacking off mostly have some negative
effects in our life when we make it a habit.
We do something with less efforts or energy
than before. It releases negative energy and
keep a person unmotivated. It is unethical
especially in professional manner because
they’re supposed to do what they must do at
their highest potential so they can be
productive and produced good results.
Slacking off prevent them to perform at their
peak performance that results to bad quality
of work.

B. LEAVING FOOD ON THE PLATE AFTER EATING

In our home leaving food on the plate when
you’re done eating is not tolerated. After
eating your plate must be clean because
having food left on your plate is a sign of
disrespecting. You should take what you can
finish and so there must be no leftover. It is
unethical in our house because it is practice
on our daily lives and we must abide it if we
don’t want to deal with a consequence.
MORAL

A. PET PATIENTLY WAITING FOR HIS FOOD TO BE SERVED

Pets can be trained and can be well-
mannered. They should learn how to obey
especially when it is being cared so they can
live in harmony with humans. We train our
pets at home and so they can wait patiently
for their food to be served and they can get
an extra meal if they can obey. I believe it is
moral because they know that they can’t act
with just what they wish.

IMMORAL

A. EATING IN BED
As a Filipino, eating in bed is one of the
immoral act that is well-known. It is also an
act of disrespect as bed is for resting and
not to eat. We get it a lot to our elders and
so I believed it also. I still bring it to me up
until now and continue avoid it for my
everyday lives.
 B. GOING OUTSIDE WITHOUT TELLING YOUR PARENT/GUARDIAN
This is also one of the immoral acts that I
know as this disrespect your parents.
This is an immoral act as we have to
aware our parents about us, they have to
know so they can take care of you well
and avoid unnecessary conflict inside a
family. It is a way of trusting your
parents and also be able to let your
parents trust you. They are just in need
for your reassurance that you will be safe
and sound and will be able to go back
home.

LEGAL
A. BUYING AND CONSUMING
We have our rights to buy and consume what we
want as long as we abide by the law. It is the
fruit of our hard work, despite the need to
consume as a human being. It is our rights to
enjoy and to live with freedom and peace on
buying, selling and also consuming. However,
there are also limitations on what we can trade
and consume, it is better that we know our rights
and also its limitations so we can avoid conflicts.
ILLEGAL
A. FOR THE SELLER TO SEND INCOMPLETE PRODUCTS
I have encountered a shop at shopee online
shopping app where there’s this seller that sent
me incomplete products. It is disappointing
that what I have paid for is not what I
received. It is illegal to scam customers as we
have the right to receive what we paid for. As
a seller it is your duty to make sure that the
products that you’re going to ship out is
exactly the same what the customers demand.
