Baker Early Production & Custom Testing Facilities

Early Production Facilities

With the ever increasing need to
speed return on investment, Baker
Production Technology was the first
to develop early production facilities
to bring new production on line as
quickly as possible. This approach
is attractive in new field discoveries where early
production generates much needed cash flow to help
fund further development. Early production facilities
also allow the exploitation of marginal fields which
would not normally warrant the expense of
conventional platform development. Onshore, early
production units allow pipeline hookup long before
permanent facilities are completed. Also provided is
the detailed reservoir information vital to efficient, long
term development.
Custom Well Test Facilities
Another important application of the early production
facilities is offshore well testing in fields which have been
developed using small, single well jackets. This is

particularly applicable in areas like the Arabian Gulf

where, in many cases, facilities were not installed to
enable individual well testing. By installing a full scale
production facility on either a boat or a mobile jack-up
barge, it is possible to get detailed well performance
data. Baker Production Technology currently has three
facilities in operation, each custom built to customer
specification. *

First in early offshore production, Baker commissioned this major tanker-mounted facility almost 10 years ago.
