Methodology: Story Read Aloud using props (10mins) Cross - curricular links:
The teacher will use the Jolly phonic story of letter k using Music: Letter k (Jolly Phonics song)
stick/shadow puppets and the flash cards related to the story Dance: Jolly Phonics k action song
will be stuck in different corners of the classroom. As the story PE: Walk in a ‘k’ pattern line
is read out children will be given a chance to go and get the Art: kings crown craft
different pictures related to the story and start placing them in EVA: Name of 2 animals and a fruit:
a sequence. Kiwi, koala bear and kangaroo
Thereafter, the jolly phonic song of letter k will be played and Early Maths: colour of keys in the
children will sing the song with actions. keyboard(black and white)

Mark Making Area: Children will be provided with chart papers, cling wrap, crayons, chalk, paint and
brushes. They will do scribbling, doodling and painting activities.
Malleable Area: In this area, children will have the opportunity to use different tactile materials e.g. corn
flour, playdough, clay, foam, pasta, oats, cutter, rolling pin etc. Here they will use their senses to explore
and develop fine motor skills. Children will create letter t using play dough.
Plenary (15 mins): k letter cards and picture cards will be placed on the floor. Children will hop on it one
by one and name the picture emphasizing on the beginning sound of it.
Home Task:
Children will be asked to bring letter k objects from home. They will speak a few lines about it.
