Break the job into steps. List the hazard or type of harm identified with each step List the necessary control measures to be followed to eliminate/ reduce the identified hazards Person who will ensure this happens

Vehicle movement for getting materials inside the site as well as Hit Hazard Access to be cleared from all unwanted materials or traffic to enter the work area.

Entry will be done at the gate before entering the site.

Helper to be provided for controlling the traffic by signal.

Continuous supervision to be provided.

PPE’s to be provided (Safety Shoes, Helmet, Hand gloves, Goggles, If required dust mask
Loading, Unloading & Shifting of Steel Using Hydra/Crane Mobile Plant will also be provided.

Documents of the equipment to be checked and cleared.


Valid licence for the operator.
Proper access to be provided and with the help of a helper equipment to be placed on a flat
base.
Equipment with the lifting tools, tackles to be certified by a competent person before started
Material Fall Hazard using.
All the tools and tackles to be certified by a competent person.
Authorised operator is allowed to operate the Crane/Hydra
Proper SWL to be followed. Do not over load..
Only one man is allowed to control the signal.
Trained riggers are allowed to tie the material
And the same to be checked before lifting.

who are engaged on the work.
Working at night

Stacking area to be barricaded and proper sign boards to be displayed.

Inadequate illumination
Daily tool box to be followed and to be recorded

Continuous supervision to be provided.

Safety Goggles to be given to avoid eye hazard.


Welding

Proper illumination to be provided while working at night as per required.


Defective machines

Site First aid centre provided incase of any first aid and emergency vehicle is available at
site during the time of work.

Proper cables to be provided for holder and earthing.

Cables to be fixed using lugs and should be tightly connected to the machine.

No loose connections are not allowed to avoid fire and other disaster.

Machines are to be properly covered and should be sealed from electrical cables touching
the cover or body of machine to avoid electrical shock.

All the machines to be checked by the electrical in charge and put green tag showing
machine is in good condition to use before using the machine.
Personal Injury

In case of Defective machines, should be removed from the site as soon as possible or put
“NOT IN USE” board showing the same removing the cable from the panel with the help of
electrician as soon the machine got any complaint while working.

Machines should be properly placed away for flammable or combustible materials and
should be properly barricaded.

Provided with suitable Fire Extinguishers.

Daily checklist to be maintained for the same.

Only authorized and skilled welder to be deployed for the same.

Aprons and other Personal Protective equipments like Face shield, leather hand gloves to
be provided before starting the work.

Electrical Hazard
Proper insulated welding holder should be used for holding welding rod and earthing should
be given through cable fixed with insulated welding holder.

Joints on welding cables and earthing through steel rod should be strictly prohibited.

Area should isolated form other activities with proper signboards.

Work area should be cleared out from flammable or explosive materials near by vicinity.

Working at height Helper should be provided for making alteration on current while working.

Suitable fire extinguisher to be provided on the work area.

Machine should be properly kept and all the cable, welding cables as well as electric cables
will keep properly near the machine after disconnecting it form the panel.

Pre-job briefing to be given before starting the job and tools box talks to be done on daily
basis.

Continuous supervision to be provided.

Proper Cables (armoured cable) without any joint to be used for electric supply through
ELCB.

Working at night
Proper double earthing to be provided.

Eye hazard
Power to be cut-off while not working and the cable to be removed from the panel and kept
properly.

Cutting using DA Fire Hazard


Electrical in charge should check the machine and put green sticker before starting the job.

Daily toolbox talks to be followed.

Inadequate illumination
Skilled and trained welder should be deployed for the same.

Proper work platform to be provided and welding cables should be properly secured before
starting the work.
Personal Injury

Proper fall protection like Safety harness to be provided and lifeline to be provided where
ever necessary.

Suitable PPE’s to be provided with aprons, leather hand gloves etc.

Area below the welding should be barricaded and should be isolated from access and other
things.

Proper sign board to be displayed and continuous supervision to be provided.

Welding cable lugs to be fixed tight to the machine and proper to avoid fire.

Eye hazard Storage of flammable or combustible materials is strictly prohibited underneath or near by
area when the work is going on at height.

Nobody is allowed to stand underneath when the work is going on at height.

Fire Hazard
Underneath area should be isolated and cleared from other activities.

Grinding & Drilling

11Adin glass on face shield to be used & 5A din glass for helper.

CO2 /DCP Fire extinguisher to be provided.

Pre-job Briefing to be done before starting the job and toolbox talks to be done on daily
basis.

Working at night

Sufficient illumination to be provided.

Using defective hand tools / power tools.

Electrical hazard
Only skilled and trained cutter should be deployed.

Only DA is allowed to use along with Oxygen.

Daily Cylinder as well as hose connections using soap water solution for leakage.

Through Visual checking for hoses before starting the work.

Cylinders should in a vertical trolley tied with chain. DA will be covered and should be wet
always.

Cutting hoses to be identified with a colour code of Blue for oxygen and Red for DA.

No joints on gas hoses and cutting torch is of trade mark one.

Proper flash back arrestor and non return valve should be used on both cylinder side and
the torch side respectively.

Fire hazard Should wear all the PPE’s including leather hand gloves and goggles.

Proper housekeeping to be provided by removing cutting scraps and all as soon as the work
Eye Hazard ends.

Cutting 5Adin glass to be provided.

Pre-job briefing to be done before the work starts and tool box to be given on daily basis.

Continuous supervision to be provided.

Proper Cutting lighter to be used.

Storage of flammable or combustible materials is strictly prohibited underneath or nearby


area when the work is going on at height.

should be guarded.

Proper connection with earthing through ELCB to be provided.

Each and every power tools should be checked by the electrician and put green sticker
before using the tools.

All the tools should be checked daily before use. Pre-job briefing to be done before starting
the job and tool box talks to be given on daily basis.

Proper cables to be used. No loose cables, proper earthing should be there and connection
through ELCB only.

Storage of flammable or combustible materials is strictly prohibited underneath or nearby


area when the work is going on at height.
