100 VA
We know the following relations:
Et = 4.44*f*Bm*Ai
Here Ai = Ag * ks
1
Also Et = Te

Primary Winding (HV Side)

V1
T1 = Te
Here T1 = 1104 turns
V1 = 220 V
So Te = 5.02
Assuming efficiency = 92%
VA 100
I1 = V 1 × efficiency = 220 ×0.92 =0.49407 A
I1
Area of cross section of conductor = a = del1
Here as we have measured diameter of 0.3mm and by seeing the SWG
table, 30 number is fit so using round table conductors, for SWG 30 area is
0.0779 sq.mm
SWG 30 diameter = 0.315 mm
Enamel coating additional diameter = 0.035 mm
Total net diameter = 0.315+0.035 = 0.35mm
SWG 30 area = 0.0779 sq.mm
SWG 30 area with enamel coating = 0.096211275 sq.mm
I1 = 0.49407 A
According to formula: del1 = 0.49407/0.096211275
So del1 = 5.13526091 A/sq.mm
Del1 is very large compare to the constraints.
Secondary Winding (LV Side)
V2
T2 = Te

Here T2 = 248

V2 = 48

So Te = 5.16
Assuming efficiency = 92%
VA 100
I2 = V 2 × efficiency = 48× 0.92 =2.2644 A
I2
Area of cross section of conductor = a = del 2
Here as we have measured diameter of 0.7 mm and by seeing the SWG
table, 22 number is fit so using round table conductors,
SWG 22 diameter = 0.711 mm
Enamel coating additional diameter = 0.055 mm
Total net diameter = 0.711+0.055 = 0.766mm
SWG 22 area = 0.3973 sq.mm
SWG 22 area with enamel coating = 0.460837085mm
I2 = 2.2644 A
According to formula: del2 = 2.2644/0.460837085
So del2 = 4.91366 A/sq.mm

del2 is very large compare to the constraints.

Area Part

Where:
A = 32mm
B = 95mm
C = 48mm
D = 16mm
E = 15mm
F = 15mm

As shown in the figure , we will have;

Window Area:
hw = C – E = (48 – 15) = 33mm
Ww = ( B−2 D− A )/2 = (95-(2*16)-32)/2 = 15.5mm
We divided width by 2 as we need to take only one window for shell type
single core.
Aw = hw * Ww = 511.5 sq.mm

Now:
Gross Area:
Measurements for thickness of lamination strip are done by all group
members separately in the manner 3,2,2 respectively by three members.
First 5 are done using normal calipers while last 2 are done using digital
one.

Measurements
1 0.4
2 0.4
3 0.4
4 0.5
5 0.5
6 0.4
7 0.4
Mean thickness: 0.42857mm
Ag = depth*A = (No. of laminations*lamination thickness)*A
= (76*0.42857)*32
= 1042.28572 sq.mm
As told that single phase shell transformer stacking factor value should be
between 0.8 and 0.9 so we would take value of 0.87
Ai = ks * Ag = 0.87*1042.28572 = 906.788576 sq.mm
B value
As Te1 = 5.16 and Te2 = 5.02 so should get mean value which is:
Temean =( Te1 + Te2 )/2 = (5.16+5.02)/2 = 5.09
1 1
B = Te∗4.44∗f ∗Ai = = 1.02465296 Tesla
5.0 9∗4.44∗50∗906.788576∗10−6
Summary
- Both Te’s are comparable.
5.16−5.02
- Difference in values : 5.02
× 100=2.78 %

- Percentage difference is well within constraint of 1%-5% error

- del1 value is not within range.
- del2 value is not within range.
- B value is attained for the design and is well within range.
