B. PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
a. The student recognizes vocabulary about beach through audios, visual aids and written.
b. The student uses plural forms of pronouns when describing pictures related to people at the beach.
C. LEARNING STRATEGIES
Opening Activities
1-Warm up: have students stand up and go out to sing the song get ready to wiggle in order to make them have fun and boosting energy.
Teacher models the activity to them and encourages them to dace. (5 minutes)
2-Review/ Prior Knowledge: Playing the game what`s missing students review the vocabulary related to beach words. Teacher places
all the flashcards on the floor and asks them to close their eyes, when they cannot see, teacher takes out the picture and asks students to
open their eyes. The main point is to guess what word is missing. (5 minutes)
3-Presentation of New content: Have students go inside the classroom. Teacher introduces the new grammar focuses on the personal
pronoun “They” to refer to the present continuous tense in order to describe actions on the beach. Teacher sticks a picture of a boy
building a sandcastle and encourages pupils to say “He is building a sandcastle” later, sticks a picture of a girl swimming in the ocean and
invites children to say “She is swimming in the sea” afterwards sticks a flashcard of a group of kids buying ice cream and invites them to
say “They are buying an ice cream”, and explains to kids that when we are referring to plural we have to say They to describe them. (7
minutes)

Middle Activities: Controlled/ Free practice


4-Listening: Playing the game Rumor children practice sentences to describe what people are doing at the beach. Teacher divides the
class in two teams and tells a secret to the leader of each team, and he or she is going to tell the secret to the next classmate and so on. The
last kid has to say the sentence aloud and write on the board. Repeat the activity at least 3 times. (7 minutes)

5-Speaking: Once students have gotten the point of the grammatical structure “They are” teacher encourages them to describe the next
pictures. (8 minutes)

6-Writing: Have students answer the following questions. (8 Minutes) Mario

Closing Activities
7-Game/ Reading: Playing the game salad sentences Students read sentences about what people are doing at the beach. Teacher gives
some words and asks them to sticks them on their tummies, then read some sentences like: Eloisa and Marcos are swimming in the ocean,
Lilliam and Juan are buying icecream; students who have the words are going to stand in front the class and order the words to form the
sentences (5 minutes)

D. Homework:
8-Write 4 sentences using “they are” and verbs (eat, walk, swim, build).
