Yes, the school have specific ICT policies and standards.

Yes, some of the teachers are aware but some are not.

Yes, teachers attended seminars and training before they implemented the

use of these ICT tools.

Yes, the division office of the school has their own computer with wifi connection

as well as printers where teachers have easy access. However, most teachers

in their school bought their own. They have their own laptops, printers, wifi routers,

and a smart TV.

 Since maam Gina is a grade-one teacher, the pupils are only allowed to use

the smart TV where maam Gina plays different kinds of learning videos during

their break time. Also, maam Gina used the smart TV to present some of the

lessons during the class.

At first, maam Gina was not really good at using laptops and printers since she

belongs to traditional generation teachers where they teach pupils by using chalk

and board. But through the help of training, seminars, and the continuous support

and help from her daughter, she was able to use the ICT tools.

 The problems that maam Gina had was the usage of the ICT tools since as I

mentioned, she was not used in these kinds of tools.

Since maam Gina handled grade one pupil, the only problem that they encountered

was on how to attend online classes before they had a face to face. Since most

of the pupils are not familiar with online meetings and not all pupils can afford

touch screen cellphones and load. But, during face to face clasessthey don't really
face challenges since they are only watching learning videos from the TV. This is

effective for them since it can easily catch their attention.

For me , the domains that maam Gina needs to develop are Curriculum and

Assessment and Technology tools. These really needs improvement since

maam Gina as well as her same generation colleagues are not really into techy

way of teaching, so they need more practice and guidance on how to be more

knowledgeable in using ICT tools.

 To promote a positive use of ICT to students, teacher must use proper and

needed ICT tools. Since most are through the use of TV, learning videos and

creative Powerpoint presentation must be done.The lessons must be conducted

creatively to catch the attention of the students.

I realized that proper usage and implementation of Information and

Communication Technology in teaching has particularly big impact and has

become an enabler of an effecient and effective learning environment.

I believed that teachers must have the knowledge and skills to use different ICT

tools or new digital tools to help students achieve high level of knowledge and

skills.

I feel that being a teacher is profession where you need to develop your

knowledge and skills not just for your sake but most importantly for the sake

of your students.

When I become a teacher, I will do more research with regards to ICT and

apply the knowledge and different tools in my teaching for the betterment of

my future students.
