Greeting & 1. Greet the class and take the attendance.


Warm-up 2. Do the Warm-up activity.
(5-10 min.) - Write three incorrect sentences on the board from the previous unit. Then
have students come up and correct the sentences. Go over the mistakes to
make sure students know what is wrong and how to make the sentences
correct.

(35-45 min.) 1. Introduce the negative present simple tense. Remind students that they are SB p. 58
going to learn how to construct sentences that talk about daily routines, habits, PPT Tool
and facts. Slides 3-5
2. Go over the Grammar BOARD as a class.
- Talk about what is happening in the pictures. Then read the example
sentences, emphasizing the subject pronoun and the negative present
simple verb.
- Tell students negative sentences are made by adding don’t or doesn’t PPT Tool
before the main verb. Slides 6-8
3. Read the examples in the table. Emphasize the verb endings. Tell students that
the form of the main verb doesn’t change. Point out that for the pronouns I, you
we, and they, don’t is used, and for she, he, and it, doesn’t is used.
4. Practice using PPT Tool Slides 7-8.

1. Go over each picture and talk about it. Tell students they will be making
sentences.
2. Have students circle the correct form of the verbs and negative form of do and
then write the words in the correct order to make sentences.

Extension Activity

Do the Detective extension activity.
- Divide the class into teams of four. Have each team think of an object, a
person, or an animal and write a positive or negative sentence about it on
the slips of paper.
- Collect the slips of paper from each team and have a team come out to the
front of the class.
- Give the team a set of paper and have each member read a slip and make
a guess.
- Have the next team come out and do the same until all teams have
participated.
