Corse Title Human Behavior and Victimology
Course Credits 3 units
Corse Component 3 hours every week for 18 weeks/ 54 hours per semester
Course Description The course covers the study on human behavior with emphasis on the concept of human development and abnormal
behavior. It includes strategies and approaches for handling different kinds of abnormal behavior in relation to law

enforcement and criminal proceedings. It also includes the study of victimization, the role of community and techniques
in assisting offender’s reintegration and victim’s recovery.
Learning Outcomes At the end of this course, the students should be able to:
Cognitive:
1. Explain the nature and concepts of human behavior.
2. Analyze the different theories, factors and stages of human development that affects the mastery of the
developmental tasks that may affect human rights and welfare.
3. Describe the different types of abnormal behavior encountered by law enforcement agencies that affects public
safety.
Affective:
4. Differentiate knowledge on the legal foundations in terms of investigating cases involving abnormal behavior.
5. Describe knowledge on the jurisprudence, related laws and procedures in instances involving persons with
abnormal behavior.
Psychomotor:
6. Examine the nature, concept and role of victims towards victimization.
7. Demonstrate the role of the community in the reintegration, reconciliation and reformation in relation to offender’s
welfare.

Grading System Grading System (Sec. 10, Title 2 of Student Handbook 2019)

1. The grading system is the CARREON Method. There shall be two (2) grading periods in a regular
semester: Midterm, and Final periods. In each period, a weight of 50% for midterm and 50% for
final is given.
2. There shall be one (1) grading period in summer only final.
3. Grades for each period are based on the following:
