GRADE 12 LEARNERS' ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE: MODULAR LEARNING vs.

FACE-

TO-FACE CLASSES AT JORDAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 2021-2022

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study aims to determine the difference between the academic performance of grade 12

learners of Jordan National High School during modular distance learning and face-to-face

classes and is expected to answer the following questions:

1. What is the average academic performance in Practical Research 1 of Grade 12 learners of

Jordan National High School during modular distance learning?

2. What is the average academic performance in Practical Research 1 of Grade 12 students of

Jordan National High School during limited face-to-face classes?

3. Is there a significant difference between the average academic performance in Practical

Research of Grade 12 students of Jordan National High School during modular distance learning

and during face-to-face classes?

HYPOTHESIS

There is no significant difference between the academic performance in Practical Research 1 of

Grade 12 learners of Jordan National High School during modular distance learning and limited

face-to-face classes.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

This study is focused on determining the difference between the average academic performance

in modular distance learning and limited face-to-face classes of Grade 12 learners of Jordan

National High School.

The average academic performance of Grade 12 learners will be based on their second semester

grades in Practical Research 1 during the academic year 2021-2022. During the academic year

2021-2022 students experienced modular distance learning and limited face-to-face classes. The

first half of the second semester includes the academic performance of Grade 12 learners during

modular distance learning, while the second half of the second semester includes the academic

performance of Grade 12 learners during limited face-to-face classes.

The respondents of this study are the selected Grade 12 learners of Jordan National High School

that have gone through modular distance learning and limited face-to-face classes for the second

semester of academic year 2021-2022. The researchers identified the participants through

purposive sampling technique,

This study will be conducted at Jordan national high school within March and April of academic

year 2022-2023.

The researchers used the School Report Card (SF-9) of Grade 12 learners of Jordan National

High School for the academic year 2021-2022 to gather data that has been consolidated and

analyzed.

The academic performance of Grade 12 learners will be gathered from their school report

card(SF-9) for the academic year 2021-2022.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The researchers of this study believes that determining the difference of academic performances

will be beneficial for the following:

STUDENTS. The main beneficiaries of this research are the students. They will know in what

type of learning modality did their academic performance increased or decreased. By this, they

can make adjustments to enhance their academic performance.

TEACHERS. Teachers can also benefit with this study because if they can know the differences

with the learners’ academic performance, they can create new and improved teaching techniques

in order to help learners improve their academic performance.

PARENTS. The students’ parents will also be one of the beneficiaries of this study because with

learning the difference between their child’s academic performances they will be knowledgeable

where their children have excell or where they have difficulties. With this, as parents they can

also create ways on how they can help their children with their academics.

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.This institution can benefit with this study/ in such a way/

that if the researchers have determined/ the difference between academic performances of

students, they can be aware of which learning modality is more useful for students. With this,

they can fully understand which learning modality should be implemented.

FUTURE RESEARCHERS. This research study will be beneficial for future researchers as they

can use this as a credible source for further studies.
