In our age's fast growing social, cultural and corporate world, the study of

international business has become an integral part of the societies. Besides providing
me with high positions, this experience would help me better understand the needs of
that growing, cross-cultural, and corporate world as I personally want to be a leader
who can understand the needs of this world. As I have learnt from my education and
extra-curricular activities at Koç University, my internships and work history, I have
realized that to become successful at professional and social life, having the
knowledge of international management, both theoretical and practical, is a game
changer for me.

Throughout my undergraduate studies as a Business Administration student at Koç

University, I was educated to have the skills of becoming a good leader. The skills I
acquired always helped me widen my viewpoint when I focused on problems. Today,
I believe that becoming a good leader is to understand the needs of different people
from different parties and cultures, and to be responsive to their needs.

The classes that I took at Koç University, gave me the theoretical knowledge that I
needed to start my career but unfortunately, I couldn't go deeper and couldn't find the
opportunity to practice the knowledge in my repertoire. Now, I think I need more to
be effective in my work life and I should improve both theoretical and practical
knowledge with a master’s degree at international management.

During my six-month work history, I have always been keen on taking responsibilities
in communication and organization with different parties. At Akbank, I have worked
in different units with different people. I have always tried to understand their needs
and also to help them find the best solution that we could offer. I am also leading a
new e-wallet project which has more than five national and international participants.
I am responsible for the communication and organization of those participants
regularly. This experience indicates me that I like to work in that kind of business, but
I need to improve myself to be more comfortable while I am working with diverse
cultures and parties.

In my senior year, I was elected as the Chairman of Economics Club of Koç

University after working as an Executive Board Member for two years. During this
period, I focused on building a sustainable structure with leading 15 sub-comities and
over 350 active members. This experience was both challenging and pleasurable
which eventually advanced my understanding of different cultures, strategic planning,
initiative triggering, and communication skills.

My ultimate career goal is to become a leader who can work with different parties
from different cultures. My academic records along with my various internships in
successful organizations have convinced me that strong knowledge of international
management is a must to achieve my goal. I believe that Darla Business School and
will enable me to build the solid foundation of my future career and will turn my
goals and dream into reality.
