ACTIVITY COMPLETION REPORT

Name of Activity: Team Building for Teachers

Date : December 03, 2021

I. Information about the Program:

The purpose of this team building is to improve teacher morale by focusing on
the perceptions of administrators and teachers on the best practices of team building. This also
provides some perceived strengths and weaknesses of proven team-building techniques that
can contribute to positive teacher morale and teacher job satisfaction both inside and outside
of the school.
Team building is important not only for the immediate experience of the
activities undertaken by the team but also for the group skills, communication, and bonding
that result. This activity provides realistic experiences that empower individuals to contribute to
common goals. The main goals of team building in the school system are to: (a) improve
motivation, (b) define objectives and goals, (c) identify a team’s strengths and weaknesses, and
(d) find barriers that prevent creativity.

II. Narrative Summary:

Teamwork is important in nurturing working environment. This calls for means
and ways of growing and enhancing teamwork in every organization, and one major way is
having team members engage in a team building program. The team building activities
challenge team members to solve tasks at hand and in the process learn vital skills necessary
for a good team and provide opportunities to share ideas in a fun relaxed environment.
The teaching and non-teaching personnel are the groundbreaker in the
operations and services of the Department of Education who perform various tasks to deliver
quality services to ensure the safe, caring, and effective environment. Thus, Mahay Integrated
School l(Elementary) faculty and staff, similar with other organizations are not exempted from
stress which maybe attributed from the constant change, challenges and demands of the
department.
On the 3rd day of December 2021, MIS family looked for their own way to lessen
the stress brought about by hustle and bustle tasks in school workplace. At Spacebar Resort,
Cagwait Surigao Del Sur, a One-day Capacity Building for Teachers was well-organized headed
by the school principal, Mrs. Rosabelle S. Cubillas.
The activity was commenced by the singing of the National Anthem conducted by
Mrs. Terry Joy R. Luminarias, a grade 1 teacher, followed by a word of prayer led by Mrs. Grace
B. De Jesus, teacher in Grade 3. “When there is teamwork and collaboration among the group
wonderful things can be achieved,” Mrs. Cubillas stressed during her welcome statement. After
which, Ms. April Ann G. Bernabe, District In-charge gave some motivational words of
encouragement, wherein she emphasized that the primary purpose of this activity is to
improved productivity by boosting morale, strengthening cooperation and establishing
harmonious relationship among colleagues. The School GAD Coordinator, Mrs. Araceli E. Vicera,
gave a short orientation on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment. She did emphasize
that in order to achieve gender equality, it is necessary to build a society in which women and
men share equally in the distribution of power and influence and have equal access to
education, health, decent work and livelihood.
The activity was incomplete without the group of fun games that indicated the
cooperation and unity among the members of the group. Each group who competed during the
activity, extend efforts, and did their best to win.
It was indeed a very successful and fruitful event which was evident on the happy
faces worn by everyone as they went home safely after the whole day activity.

III. Accomplishment:
After completing team building activities together, teachers understand each
other’s strengths, weaknesses, and interests. This understanding helps them work even better
together for the school progress.

IV. Major Problems Encountered:

Because of the unexpected bad weather condition, some of the games/activities

prepared were not conducted and performed.

V. Insights:

Team building activities give teachers something common to talk about other than
work. They can break down communication barriers and help teams work more
efficiently. Most importantly, employees can take the skills that they learn from these events
and apply them to their everyday tasks, such as creativity, thinking strategically, adapting
quickly, and working collaboratively with their peers.

School Principal and District In-charge at Space Bar Beach Resort, Cagwait, Surigao

The teachers enjoyed and participated actively during the fun games.
Maam April Ann Bernabe, together with Maam Cubillas and Sir Pandawatnon
distributed the certificates and tokens to the deserving teachers.
