LESSON 1:
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND EXERCISE

ACTIVITY 1
REFLECTIVE ESSAY:

1. During this COVID19 pandemic, what do you think is the importance of

physical activities in your own personal life?

Answer:

Physical fitness plays a vital role and is widely recognized as the best way
to keep our body active and healthy. It improves not only our physical aspect but
also our mental strength and capability. Also, it reduces the risk of developing
diseases like cardio-respiratory diseases and others that can weaken our body
system. However, some of us are not giving enough attention to our health since
we are more focused on our financial needs and other stuffs that we cannot
benefit afterwards.

On the other hand, since this pandemic started, many people as well as my
family engaged in doing exercises due to the fact that one of the preventions to
avoid being infected of Covid-19 is having a healthy lifestyle wherein physical
fitness underlies. Given that I am in moderate level of being physically fit, I
choose some moderate exercises that I can do and will help me to improve more.
As time passed by and I am still engaging myself in physical activities, I realized
that so far my physical body is improving in terms of I can do any task without
experiencing easily get tired and my breathing becomes normal not like before
that it feels like I am running out of breath easily. On top of that, I can now freely
do any exercise without any trouble and do biking on nearby places that I cannot
do before because of lack of physical activity participation.

Overall, this pandemic made us once again think of our actions toward our
body and health as it is our primary weapon in everything we do and might
encounter in our daily lives. Moreover, we must look after ourselves constantly
than other things because we cannot say if there will be a new challenge like this
again in our lives and will test how far we can go with this body of ours. As the
saying goes “No Pain, No Gain” proves that we should invest more on ourselves
since this is a lifetime achievement that we can have with no regrets for the rest of
our lives.

2. What are the ways that you are doing in order to cope effectively in this
pandemic situation? Explain your answer.

Answer:
Without a doubt, 2020 has been a very challenging year for us since one of
its highlights is the pandemic that made everyone’s life at risk as well as we have
the limitations on what we can do now. Also, it affects not only the financial
aspect but targeted more the mental health of everyone as we experience troubles
that are unlikely to occur before this pandemic happened. This only show that we
are not yet prepared in any aspects since it can affects us in any ways it can.

In addition, even if things became complicated once we go outside of our

houses, we can still cope-up with the happenings inside our home. For me, my
ways to easily cope-up with this pandemic are the following:
a. Listing down things I want to do the next day;
b. Exercise 2-3 times per week;
c. Doing meditation every night before going to sleep;
d. Spending more time in nature;
e. Limiting my social media intake;
f. Trying to cope up things with my family by telling side stories of our day
and our studies;
g. Watching variety shows and/or cooking videos to help me relieve the
stress; and
h. Being in-charge in some household chores.

Hence, having a concrete plans on what will you do makes it more easy to go with
the flow and lessen the impact brought by this pandemic to us. Also, it can serve as our
stepping stone to deal with the new normal we have now.
