Schools should spend more on computers and software than on textbooks.

Do you
agree?

1. Which is better for education - textbooks are better because children don’t get
distracted
2. Which are more enjoyable to use - computer are more enjoyable (it seems more
attractive, they can use di erent tools and apps, working with them is faster…)
3. Your own idea
1. Idea : computer’s weight is lower than books’ weight and it is easier to transport.
2. Conclusion : use both of them

Computers or textbooks ?

In this days and age where we are constantly connected to the Internet, we are being
witnesses of how everything being modernized .

With respect to education, there is a huge debate about if increasing the use of
technological devices is bene cial or not for our children.

Without a doubt, using computers seems more attractive and enjoyable for the pupils
than using a book and a piece of paper. That’s because they can learn using di erent
apps and tools such as games, videos or drawings and working with this devices is
usually faster than doing it without them.

Another point worth is that due to the light computer’s weight in comparison to one book
for each subject, it is easier and more comfortable for children to bring their tablets or
laptops from their house to the school and the other way round.

However many people agree that this is not the best way of being taught because
children get more distracted while using a computer than studying from the textbooks.

Weighing up both sides of the argument, I consider that schools should spend more on
computers but without removing completely the classical way of teaching, so pupils can
receive an enjoyable and e ective education.
