DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH

I. Objectives: Given a short story with activities the Grade III pupils are expected to do the
following at least 75% level of accuracy.

At the end of the lesson the grade –III pupils should be able to:

a) identify the characters of the story.

b) arrange the events happened in the story; and

c) answer the questions given from the story.

II. Content:

Subject Matter: The Kiddie Goat English Reading Textbook 3, Benita N. Miranda. Pp. 70-72.

Time/ allotment:: 1 hour

Materials: cartolina, pen, cut pictures worksheets, ppt, pc, visual aids.

Values Integration: be kind to animals.

I have here cut out pictures, all you have to do


is to arrange this in order for you to form this
into a whole picture.

narrate to you the story of the Kiddie Goat, all
you have to do is to listen carefully because
afterwards I will let you answer the questions.

“The Kiddie Goat”

I am a baby goat. My name is Kiddie


Goat. Sometimes, people call me a kid. I wear
a spotted black and white coat. Andy, who
takes care of us, drives my mother and me to
the meadows every morning. He watches us
all day. He takes good care of us.

( What is the name of the baby goat?) The name of the baby goat is Kiddie Goat.
(Who take care of the baby goat and the Andy.

I play in the meadow and nibble the
soft sweet grass. I never go far away from my
mother. I sleep by her side at night. Andy
drives us home in the afternoon. I follow
close to my mother If I get lost from her for a
moment, I say, “Ba-a ba-a ba-a.” My mother
answer, “ Ma-a, ma-a.” Then I run to her as
fast as I can.

One day, Andy took me to his friend,

The two boys left me in the yard. There


were so many things in the yard. I was so
happy. I sniffed at the things around. I saw
garbage can. I found some things to eat. I ate
the banana peelings. They tasted nice. I saw
some leaves. I ate all the leaves I could get. I
came upon a basin of clothes. The water in
the basin was cold. I drank all the water. Then
I laid down for a moment.
( What did the Kiddie Goat ate?) The Kiddie Goat ate the banana peelings.

“ Me-e-ee-ee!” I cried. My stomach


was painful. The pain grew sharper. I cried
and cried, “ Me-ee-ee! I could not move. I
could not kick up my heels.
( Why did the baby goat cry?) The baby goat cries because its stomach was
painful.
Lito came. He saw me lying down.
What happened to you, Kiddie Goat?” he
asked.
Then he called his neighbor, Mang
Anton.
Mang Anton said, “ Kiddie Goat ate too
much. He did not know when to stop eating.”
Then he rubbed my stomach . The pain slowly
disappeared.
( Who rubbed the smoach?) Mang Anton.

From that time on, I was not allowed to


go around the yard and look for food. I was
tied to post in the yard. I ate the food given to
me by Lito.
