How do the following strands influence the personal and professional teaching growth
of teachers?

1. Philosophy of teaching

It apply a personal philosophy of teaching that is learner-centered.

2. Dignity of teaching as a profession

By adopting practices that uphold the dignity of teaching as a profession by exhibiting


qualities such as caring attitude, respect and integrity.

3. Professional links with colleagues

It contribute actively to professional networks within and between schools to improve


knowledge and to enhance practice.

4. Professional reflection and learning to improve practice

It initiate professional reflections and promote learning opportunities with colleagues to


improve practice.

4. Professional development goals

It helps to demonstrate motivation to realize professional development goals based on


the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers.

1. How can the standards for professional teachers improve the quality of teachers in
the Philippines?

Standards in professional teaching improve the quality of teachers in the


Philippine. And here are some of improvements of teaching: teachers demonstrate good
subject and curriculum knowledge, fostering and maintaining pupils' interest and
addressing misunderstandings. And teachers also plan and teach well-structured lessons,
imparting knowledge and developing understanding through effective use of lesson
time to promote a love of learning.

2. How can these professional standards influence the development of the preservice
teacher education curriculum?

The professional standard influence the development of pre-service teacher


education curriculum by the standards set the expectations of what should be taught in
the pre-service teacher education program, also they set the expectations of what a pre-
service teacher should achieve in the pre-service teacher education program by
providing standards for the program, and lastly, they serve as a guide for the design and
curriculum of the program.

3. As education student, how can you prepare yourself for these professional standards
for teachers?

As a student, we can prepare our-self for these professional standards for


teachers by considering your student teaching experience “a long-term job
interview," developing your instructional practices, and keeping your sense of
humor.
