7. COURSE DESCRIPTION : This course introduces students to the contemporary world by examining the multifaceted phenomenon of
globalization. Using the various disciplines of social sciences, it examines the economic, social, political,
technological, and other transformations that have created an increasing awareness of the interconnectedness of
peoples and places around the globe. To this end, the course provides an overview of the various debates in
global governance, development, and sustainability. Beyond exposing the student to the world outside the
Philippines, it seeks to inculcate a sense of global citizenship and global ethical responsibility.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
In this new normal learning condition, course requirements in this course will not be very strict as conditions vary with various
learners’ situation. Since learning can either be modular, online and blended, thus requirements will also be blended and varied.
Students in the course must follow the rules stipulated in the school handbook. Participation in class activities is graded. Deadlines
for submission of different requirements are set and students are expected to submit their requirements in the time provided. Course
requirements include activity sheets, reflection paper, quizzes, work output and demonstration. Home works shall be conducted or given to
test if students recall the principle and concepts they learn. Major exams can either be written, oral, or exhibition or production.

a. There will be no FACE to FACE   class activities.
b. Attendance will be checked by the teacher. This attendance is both for online and offline learning modalities. For online
modalities, the attendance will be based upon checking in to the platform being used by the class and for offline modalities, the attendance will
be based by the time the students have finished/submitted the activities given. 
c. If the student needs special accommodations or requires additional assistance to fully participate and be successful in this class, it is encouraged
to consult with the faculty as soon as possible. The faculty strongly desires that each and every student will be able to achieve their goals in this
class.
d. Subject activities like (quiz, homework, and etc.) will be done in blended mode (online/offline submission of requirements).
e. For important class discussion, it will be through online meeting via Google Meet or the students will be given self-paced reading
reference/materials via Google Classroom.
f. Safety is highly encouraged. Health protocols against covid-19 must be practiced such as hand sanitizing, wearing of face masks and social
distancing if working with a peer, etc. The students are also encouraged to practice safety protocols if doing performance tasks such as doing
warm-up, wearing of proper attire, performing in the appropriate area, etc. However, do not wear face mask if you are doing a performance (it
may lead to suffocation), wear it only if you are talking to someone. 
g. Requirements must be submitted in the deadline set by the teacher. Considerations will be accepted only if the students have informed the
teacher ahead of time of his/her situation. 
h. A rate of WIP shall be given to those who got a final grade below discussed passing percentage. The student is required to submit the needed
requirements in order to pass the subject.
